Simply because Jamison will take 15 millions salary space, and the rockets wouldn't have salary space to sign another star player.

So we move Tmac and Scola for Hill, Hickson and Ilgauskas? I think I can live with that.

    Haha!

I wonder what the "All DD team" would look like? Anyone clutchfan want to put together a roster of some DD's infamous "talents" that he had an eye for?

Badiane and V-Span would be starters for sure!

I'd rather have Harrington than Jamison given their contracts with everything else equal.

....and the Rockets clearly would have been able to sign another "star" if they just let Tmac expire ....

We need clutchfans training courses taught by BimaThug. You can lead them to water, but you can't help it if they prefer to eat sand and rocks.

Man, I would love to have Jamison the Rockets. Imagine Jamison and Yao on the same team. And plus, isnt the Amare to Cavs basically a done deal? I say move Scola and T-Mac to get Hill, Jamison, and Miller. We get a young prospect, a proven vet, and an expiring contract.

Realistic Lower Risk - Money Ball move

    Houston Trades:
Gets: Mike Miller, Al Harrington, Nick Young, Jordan Hill
Gives: Tmac and Scola to New York

    Washington Trades:
    Gets: Larry Hughes
    Gives: Mike Miller, Nick Young

    New York
    Gets: Tmac, Scola
    Gives: Al Harrington, Jordan Hill

You get expirings and shooters with youngs in Jordan Hill and Nick Young. Have Nick Young develop his 3pt shot.

Yao and Ron Artest had a good shot of leading us to a championship last year with the same role players. Yao can win a championship in houston within the next 5 years.

Yeah, he does. Scola's game is the kind that transcends time. He could be doing that stuff at age 37. It's like Steve Nash's game which isn't physical at all. Scola doesn't muscle people around like Landry does, he just does a few pirouettes and scoops it in.

For even half the price of Jamison, I still think Scola is a bargain comparatively.

I believe even only 8 millions will land a better player than Jamison. Plus, the rockets could trade Battier or Ariza for expiring contracts.

I agree that Scola's game is more savy than physical. I'm just saying that the international play impacts the equation. I'm thinking I'd rather have Jamison than Scola at half the price.

I know we want championships, but man, a reloaded team next year could get to the WCF. I remember how much fun the playoff run was last year. There's something to just going through that process, and it wouldn't be us mortgaging our future. Either Yao comes back healthy or not. If not, another year of Jamison at a bloated salary isn't a big deal. We're rebuilding.

Well from the articles that state 'no deal is imminent' has all been waiting on NY and Philly. Being curdious NY i'm believed is holding up things. This is why McGrady is in Chicago waiting on NY and this is why Morey is in NY, because he figures if there is a better anny up offer, then it will come through NY's end, but if not, then he'll sign off maybe!! But this don't solve the fact Tracy is in Chicago and he will do a deal either directly or with a third team. I still believe 4 teams are involved though. Chicago would get McGrady and they attempt to unload Deng and Hinrich. Once NY hears or heard about this, they could make more moves through the same teams mainly GS and Houston to figure out what is best for them moving forward. GS is likely to dump as much long-term salary as possible, by even taking on Curry just to remove Maggette.

hardly a star player as you originally suggested.

But i suppose it's possible that 8 million might be better than Jamison.

Hey, no ones perfect. I just like what DD has to say 90% of the time. I would love to have Jamison, hes worth his contract and is averaging like 21/10 a night. I think that the reason he's better than Scola because Scola tends to not show up sometimes and isnt as consistent as last year.

Guys we have to be realistic with trades that benefit both us and them.

The most realistic trade is with New York who actually want Mcgrady.

    HOUSTON - trade Mcgrady + Cook = 26 million

    KNICKS - trade Harrington + n.robinson + L Hughes. = 27million

    H
    ouston Benefits

    - All 3 contracts are expiring this year
    - All 2/3 can contribute to the team this year for playoffs
    - We need robinson to cover for injured lowry, harrington at SF and battier to bench, Larry hughes can is excellent cheerleader
    - No point letting Mcgrady expire if we can get expiring contracts of players who can contribute this year

    New york Benefit

    - Gets McGrady which they want
    - All 3 players they trade are not in their long term plans
    - none are starters
    - they can tank for draft picks...
