I have no problem with hard fouls or elbows but you don't blindside a guy when he's in the air. That's how Mario Elie broke his wrist. Shaq could have been seriously injured with all 400 lbs hitting in the ground.

Stack is a Bi.. there was no intention on that foul other than to injure Shaq, if your going to try to injure a player atleast do it the right way!!!

Hitting a player that hard when they are elevating or already in the air is a cheap shot worthy of suspension, especially when not even going for the ball. IMO, this was worse than Raja Bell's infraction because the potential to injure Shaq on the play was pretty high. The high potential to inflict an injury was why he deserved the suspension. And don't give me this garbage that Shaq was too big to hurt on the play. As you can see, a player who is off the ground has no leverage and isn't very heavy.

To those who disagree with the suspension, please honestly answer me this: If Yao was clobbered the same way by Stack, would you hold the same opinion?

if it was otis thorpe or horry or maxwell, stack would have been pancakes...
but we have juwan and stromile.. so i think van gundy and tmac would be the ones sticking up for yao.

Juwan stepped in for Yao in the Desmond Mason confrotation. What about in the Mike James fight when MJ yelled at a Rocket player. J How gave MJ a Spalding T.K.O.

it was a retaliation move by Stakhose for the blood nose Shaq gave him in Game 1. Who knew that that accidental elbow by Shaq would have huge ramifications later on   Heat takes game 5.

When your out of line like Stackhouse was you deserve to be suspended. That's typical of him and a couple of other punks(Terry,Howard) on the Mavs. The guy hurt his team and could have seriously injured Shaq.(or got himself seriously injured by Shaq)This is a fine example of why Stackhouse is a loser.

It was just a hard foul to prevent an easy basket. It happens all of the time and very rarely ends in a suspension. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned that David Stern might have it out for Mark Cuban. I don't like the Mavs, but I think it's a disgrace that Stack was suspended for this.

Umm, watched the replay 10 times. Was he attempting to grab his arms? Knock the ball? No- guy went clearly for his face/head- and anything around the face/neck (e.g. Raja Bell on Kobe Bryant) is going to be an automatic suspension. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. The NBA has set a precedent for these playoffs- all the players know it. Excessive fouls are subject to review and suspension.

Hard fouls happen all the time- but there's a reason why some don't warrant suspension. The NBA has criteria for suspensions- and it's not like they are not going to review the tape 50 times before they make a decision. If someone hits Dirk in the neck on a dunk attempt next game, you'd better believe Cuban would be up in arms. I mean, c'mon, this is the same person who tried to place the blame on Finley for Terry's knocker shot.

Thank God the Mavericks showed their true character- I was almost starting to get accustomed to them being champions and giving them props. Now, just like Seahawks fans, I can sleep at night refusing to acknowledge the Mavs as the champions. They are exactly what's wrong with the NBA.

He went for the foul, hard from the side, when the guy was in the air. Anything could of happened. Shaq could have broken lots of things or cut himself up on a camera. It was lucky that nothing bad did happen.
And I don't care what the reason is behind the suspension. If it keeps the Mavs from winning, I'm loving it.
The entire city of Dallas can lick my schweaty sack.

Mavs = Boy who cried wolf

They are a bunch of spoiled brats who never get their way and are never see that they get calls for them as well (Dirks ridiculaous free throw attempts and flopping Calls).

Its obviously the refs fault that, they are nutsack punchers and enjoy blindsiding people midair.

Cuban blamed finley for that and blamed the heat for all the accidental elbows.

Its basketball dammit, when you lose you move on with class. At least when we lost last year we blamed ourselves and not outside factors.

Its time for dallas to move on.

The suspension is surprising considering he didn't even get ejected but I think its a fair judgement. Just think of how much force Stackhouse used to bring down Shaq like that. He sent a 330-pound dude flying. That same foul on anyone else and he probaby knocks the guy out.
