I dont put any stock in what ESPN says anyways, they could place us at the bottom at number 29 for all I care, cause as long as the Lakers have shaq and Kobe, and Micheal is still in the league they will be up their butts anyway, so it dont matter
I would have to consider the Rocks the biggest enigma in the league right now. When the games begin the truth will be told.
I don't think it matters what they rank us....I think the Rockets should prove themselves to be a worthy contender and a top 10 team during the regular season....
I think they'll change their mind after our perfect preseason. I stick to my prediction, sweep of the preseason. Who thinks the Jazz will finish above us this season?(realistically)
I say who cares what these guys think, the minute the Rockets start winning they'll jump on the bandwagon anyway. I'm not sold on the Clippers, losing Miles will be a big blow. He was the heart of their defense. I think the Rockets have their advantage of having a veteran scorer who can explode in Glen Rice, and getting a healthy Mo to go along with last year's team and our draft picks. This team will be better then the Clippers, Sonics, Jazz and T-Wolves I believe.
I don't understand how the Hornets are in #6. The Rockets wuped them twice (99-00) and one time (00-01) last year. How in hell are the Clippers at #10, they got this all wrong. I know they are basing this on last season, but they must have forgotten that the injury bug hit the Rockets hard. Also, remember that the Rockets had the best record that did not made the playoffs. So clearly the Rockets deserve to be at least #10.
You guys think we are underrated? Look at the Blazers, they won 49 games last year in a tough Western Conference and they are ranked 22! They should be ranked alot higher than overrated teams such as Washington and Toronto. Lets face it guys, we had a horrible year last year...ranking us 17 is not that bad in the preseason, we have alot to prove...
As I mentioned, you'll get a Char--er, New Orleans Hornets team in at #6 because the ESPN staffers are mixing and matching all NBA teams when, in fact, you can start with the best Leastern Conference team at about #7 or #8. Still, New Orleans would be good if healthy. But then, wouldn't the Rockets? The Clippers at #10 is a bit of a monkey-spank choice because Odom is still out, Miles is gone, so Maggette will prob'ly hafta play the 3. And the whole team knows they'll individually get shafted come time for contract extensions, so they won't play too well as a team. It doesn't really matter where we're ranked now, let's see if we win and if we get some love as a result of winning.
the clips are too high and the disses of the celts and blzers are no good, and the wizards are too high also, but then again, who cares what marc stein thinks; there ain't no bcs in the nba.
I'm not certain, but I'm pretty confident that marc stein is the dallas mavericks beat writer for the Dallas Morning News, for whatever that's worth.
