Jeff, in your opinion, which coach out there, that is available, would you consider "moving up" from Rudy T?

Actually, didn't Van Gundy step down for health reasons?

everytime you guys come and post on the threads, for some reason i think of the greeks gods on mount olympus coming down to restore order or something. :D

why is van gundy a "side-step"? comparing coaches is like...uhh... i dunno.... apples and oranges or something. completely different strategies. of course gundy coached ewing before he retired like hakeem coached olajuwon, but ewing wasn't the primary option for the team anymore... or was he? i think it'll be good for yao since gundy often praised yao during nationally televised games.

what other coaches are on the market that are any better than van gundy? fratello? who else? better how?

i think the reason organizations hire new coaches is for a change of pace... a change of pace from something that wasn't working before. has rudy's "pace" worked? how much time does he need? with the "greatest team ever assembled" you'd expect better.

That'll be good for 17 more pages.

P.J. Brown? Garnett (yeah right)? Would Elton be considered a "vet"?

I didn't think that Gundy got fired either. I thought that he left because he wanted to move on and the Knicks where clearly on the downslide.

Vets? Give me a break please. This team is not suffering from a lack of vets, it is suffering from a coaching style problem. They can get all the vets they want, if the coaching style stays the same the results will be the same. Simple. If CD is the one calling the shots then do not expect earth shattering moves. Also, the finances do not allow for big moves anyway. In fact they would be lucky to retain Posey. This team does not have the luxury or flexibilty of bring in a bunch of vets.

Why do you make that comment about CD? What other GM has made more earth shattering deals over the last several years than CD? Drexler, Barkley, Quitten, Francis or Griffin ring a bell?

Now for your trivia question: What team in the league can out bid the Rockets for Posey?

Exactly how will they be able to do that given the contraints imposed by their salary cap situation?

I don't think Doc's message was to "please" the crowd, especially since we have so many Rudy bashers. Doc is simply telling us to move on with our discussion to things other than "get riddy of Rudy".

Wether you like the decision (keeping Rudy) or not, it's time talk about other things like what trades we can make and what vets we can bring in to improve the team.

For the record, I am glad we are keeping Rudy for next season.

Mental health reasons. Also, JVG is 'owned' by the Knicks until 8/1, I believe. He was seriously burnt out.

Vets are fine, if they are the right vets. Coming, how? The exceptions, vetean's minimum, trades --who, and how?

Assistant coaches? It would only help IF RT gave them real responsibility.

Don't forget, Hughes, the author who initiated the thread, is only requoting from Les' end-of-the-season etc etc and lack of follow up news.
