Dwane Wade? By far, Dream was a superior player than Shaq. It is not even close. He easily demonstrated that every time they played together, including an nba finals. That being said, Shaq was a more dominant player. The Rockets with Shaq would have won more championships that with Dream. He was just that strong. But talent wise and athletic ability, there is no comparison. Shaq could not coordinate. He was simply big.
Why are we even surprised that Dream gets no love? Freakin' OJ Simpson took some of his TV time. That murderer. That's what SHE said!
Someone should ask Robert Horry who he thought was better Hakeem or Shaq because he played with both at their primes.

I'm not trying to prove a case. I don't think I need to do that on a Rockets messageboard. It was just an extremely memorable line to me...so much so that I can quote it today and I remember distinctly hearing him say it.
I don't get why people are shocked that Shaq, who had better numbers, won more titles, and played for a higher profile team, would be thought by non-Houston-based observers to have out-achieved Olajuwon. Fact of the matter is that by most conventional measures, he did, even if Olajuwon was more skilled or more dominant in stretches. You simply can't deny Shaq's effectiveness.
Jordan, Horry and Shaq himself have said publicly that Hakeem was the best. The opinions of some random columnist and r****ded fans means nothing compared to this.
Olajuwon is respected by his peers as an all time great, and is beloved by the city that chose him over Michael Jordan. That is all he needs. He doesn't need the respect of some jackass poll writer at ESPN.
What people tend to forget, or just don't know, is that during Shaq's prime he was not only bigger and stronger than other centers. He was quicker, faster, and flat out BETTER than nearly everyone that guarded him. He shot 58% from the field for his career. But yes, Hakeem should be on the list.
Looks like they've updated the poll. Instead of "Other" as the 5th choice, it's now Hakeem!! So, go vote! http://espn.go.com/nba/ (bottom right corner of page)
People tend to overrate Bill Russel, IMO. The first 10 years of his career, there were less than 10 teams in the entire league. Not only was the competition limited, but it was unbalanced, with the Celtics team basically swimming in HOFers.
Nearly everyone. That's what happens when you have little to no outside game. Mutombo, a horrid offensive center, shot 52% for his career.
But I think those players were HOFers largely because of Bill Russell. His teammates kept changing, but he kept winning. The only constant throughout that Celtics dynasty was Russell.
Come on guys go vote! We can't let this blasphemy manifest itself. I've gotten into so so so many arguments with people who think Shaq was better than Hakeem. Pure BS. If Hakeem were on the Lakers/Celtics/Knicks, he'd be known as the best center who ever played the game. Hakeem is better than Bill Russell. Hakeem is better than Wilt Chamberlain. Hakeem is better than Kareem. Hakeem is better than Shaq. Point guard feet in a center's body--the best defender the NBA has ever seen and the best post player the NBA has ever seen.
Back in wilt's day, your fetid countrymen were actually playing Hunter-gatherer ball, rather than post-Neolithic barnyard ball of today. Quite frankly, it's like comparing a bushel of hay to a basket of berries - I hardly think you should talk.
