PJ's health is deteriorating, and he's got more rings than fingers.

    He's due to retire.

I think he will be back for one more year, and then he is going to retire.

If he coaches like he commentates, that might be just what the rest of the league needs to counterbalance the ridiculous ref advantage the Fakers get every year.

he has health problems... he wouldn't leave if it were up to him. If he's healthy he'll stay.. if not the Lakers will need a new coach

Most likely Scenario--PJ does all the home games, does very few of the road games, and will do the full routine during the playoffs.

PJ will be back, because the universe smiles upon the Lakers, and the rockets waste another season.

Uh...Riley took over as an assistant of Paul Westhead after the team already won a title. He was so green that Buss was hesitant to do it and he made Jerry West sit on the bench with him for his first 20 or so games.

More babble. The last time Phil did that was when Shaq was on the team. He put all his offensive eggs in Kobe's basket when he returned in 2005, blowing away the theories of ego struggles between the two. He let Kobe shoot 46x against the Raptors in a meaningless game...

I have been wondering - just what are these health problems of Phil's, anyways? I guess it slightly worries me if it's just being old, as Rick's pretty much the same age. Just lots of stress over years of coaching?

    You guys need to realize.

    1) Phil will only coach the Lakers.
    2) The Lakers know this, so they are trying to use that to there advantage and offer him less money.
    3) Riley is holding out for more money.
