In one of the quotes he gave to the Denver post, KMart said something like "If they extended my contract, I can be playing right now, but since my contract is expiring, I'm gonna take my time." Not the best marketing for yourself as an upcoming free agent. :)

Yeah, KMart is kind of stupid sometimes, but he's been a pretty good player, and excellent on the defensive end (when healthy).

By the way, if I work for the insurance company that could potentially cover part of KMart's salary if he misses 41+ games, my ears would totally perk up upon hearing the statement above.

He would be lucky to get mid-level exception money after this season. Oft injured, low bball IQ, and completely inconsistent.

I think he's just looking for MLE money, too. He talked about the team giving his money to Al Harrington (who is making the MLE). And I think he plays pretty smart on the court, actually, and always plays hard as far as I can tell. Any lack of consistency is caused by injuries.

For some reason, this part cracks me up. The guy sounds like a total baby. It's almost cute.

Guys are going to be a little more prickly than usual with the CBA coming up. Anyone with an agent worth his salt knows that a contract today will almost certainly beat a contract once the new deal is in place.

Shades of Shaq's "hurt on company time, heal on company time" statements following his late toe surgery as a Laker.

I'd peg Kenyon's "true" value to be around $8M/year. Generally been a 15-7.5 guy with gritty defense on most nights. Given how harsh the open market's been to aging players in recent years, he may find the MLE a tough get. That said, I'm astonished Al Harrington got it with his poor rebounding and inflated scoring only coming while on craptastic teams.

Nuggets are getting too much of a thug image.

With Melo leaving, it's time for the Nuggets to clean house.
