http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2012/story/_/id/8106785/sources-knee-baylor-bears-jones-raises-red-flags Typical draft day hit job?
PJIII: "Mr. Morey, I really want to play for you guys. You know I got more than I showed at Baylor." McHale: "What do you think, Daryl? (sotto voce) Come on; I got a good feeling about this kid." Morey: "(also sotto voce) That's what you said about Morris, now look at us, Marcus is essentially a rookie, too. (to PJIII) Look, we believe in you, we want to draft you, but I don't know if I can hold onto the #12 pick. Sacramento's really on my nuts about it. And what if you don't fall to #16?" PJIII's Agent: "If you promise---PROMISE---to take him at 16, you can put out there the meniscus thing." Morey: "But that was nothing. (pauses) I like you, you're my kind of by-the-numbers no-people-person scumbag." Morey, McHale, Agent: (sharing evil laugh) BU WA HA HA HA! PJIII: Oh, s***, maybe I'll just let Milwaukee draft me... Morey: MILWAUKEE? HA HA HA! I told THEM you're a CRACKHEAD! HA HA HA!! Morey, McHale: (sharing more evil laughter) BU WA HA HA HA! Agent: (starting to share more evil laughter) BU WA HA....Hunh? Wait, what?
I have a feeling the Rockets will draft him but I'd rather they stay away from him, especially after this.
Maybe he's trying to stay away from the Rockets? The Rockets philosophy benefits players who work hard. Lowry? Always energetic and work on his shot. Parsons? Play hard nosed defense and don't take plays off. Landry? Developed his game year after year. PJ3 seems to work better on a very crappy team where he can just get a ton of minutes and put up empty stats. There's a realistic chance that he gets outworked by some random Morey pick-up in Houston.
Recently read a report that Danny Ainge might just package 21 and 22 to move up and take PJ3. Would you give up 12 for 21 and 22?
I know he's coming off of the heart thing, but Jeff Green is alot like Jones III. Both have PF size with SF ability. Green is a better 3 point shooter, but Jones has more size and can potentially be better in the paint.
Rashard Lewis all over again. We better not pass at 16 or 18. Dude has mad dribbles at his height and a good touch. He will put on muscle. Teams will regret passing on him.
Are you serious? This guy is insane... He will cause a lot of off the court problems for the team that drafts him.
Dude had no coaching whatsoever at Baylor. He has a ton of talent, but it's hard to evaluate him because of his natural ability versus the coaching situation he had to deal with in Waco. I think he will go pretty high. People around the league know he underachieved, but what isn't known is how much of that is on him, and how much of it was due to the system that he played in. I have my doubts about the knee issue, although that might explain some of the holes in his game also.
Mr Jones? We have Terrence Morris on the line asking if you'd like to be on the poster for "shoulda come out last year" Yes. Hes willing to hold.
ah, missed this...that explains why he's falling.. by the way...i read a tweet earlier where someone said a "they" tried to pin a medical condidtion on Batum, so that he'd slide to the spurs but Portland didn't fall for it...anyone know who "they" was? Spurs? Or another team or source doing the spurs a favor? Could the same thing be happening to PJIII?
Depending on the injury, he can take the time to have surgery/heal with 0 pressure to produce. Good pick - Blair-like.
