Don't be too quick to jump to conclusions. They might be running toxicology as standard procedure and not because of any particular suspicion.

    well aren't you a self-righteous little prick.

tragedy is a part of life, there is nothing gained by pointing fingers right now.

hopefully he is strong enough to learn from this costly mistake.

I noticed he was in the back seat also, I don't usually where mine if I'm in the back. I guess I'll start also.

    Shame.

It's also possible that JR didn't notice the stopped vehicle or the intersection, and whipped around him at the last minute.

Given his driving record, I think that's possible but improbable.

For normal drivers, it's probably ok, but you know, people like JR Smith, you know what i'm talking about...people of those types just have a history of being reckless drivers and not watching the road. You know what i'm talking about...those types of people with their pimped out flashy SUV's who only care what the car looks like and don't focus on driving. And these types of people are usually smoking weed or on some other type of drug. And they think they are better than everyone else...you know what kind i'm talking about.

...celebrities, always wear a seat belt when in a car with a celebrity.

This is tragic, but J.R. Smith should hire a driver. You'd think players would learn from Bobby Phills and Jay Williams. But I guess they never think it can happen to them.

i don't know about hiring a driver. as a grown man it seems like he should be able to drive like a normal person and obey signs and signals.

That may be true, but the passenger did not have a gun to his head, "don't put your seatbelt on or I will kill you"

Tragedy is a part of life, especially when you have people who drive like JR Smith on the road.

Well the reason I say that is because you always hear about athletes getting DWI's or getting into accidents, and it seems to me that with the money they make they can hire a driver or take a taxi or something.

But I do agree that your suggestion that he exercise good judgment also seems like a reasonable alternative, but honestly I'm starting to think most of these athletes seriously just need to pay somebody else to have good judgment for them. Many of them just some incapable of it.

    dude it was June 20th
like a week or so after his friend died..
he probably went to the game to get his mind off of it or something.

If your best friend died and a week later you had a chance to go to a Rocket playoff game..

You would probably go to get your mind off of it for a bit

If my best friend died because of my stupidty, I would lock myself in a closet for a year to learn the lesson. But maybe that's just me.
