My feelings about this article as well. I thoroughly enjoyed both days of his Western Conference predictions/observations -- mosly. But I have to COMPLETELY disagree with his comments about Rudy.

It astounds me that every writer in America was calling Yao a huge bust at this point a year ago, but now people like this are saying Rudy was an idiot to not know how to utilize the next Bill Walton? Yao wasn't even here for the PRESEASON last year, let alone the training camp!!! How the ---- was Rudy supposed to have built his offense around him?

It's not like we had plays designed for some other center that we could plug him into. This was an offense and defense built around the fact that it was a doughnut. Nobody could have expected Yao to be this good this fast. Even if he had, he couldn't have built the offense around Yao last year because he wasn't there. And there's not enough practice time during the season to revamp an offense that drastically -- nor did Yao have the consistency or endurance to do it last year even if you could.

It was obvious by midseason last year that we would be putting in an entirely new offensive and defensive scheme in training camp this year -- whoever the coach was.
