    In some alternate universe....

Media (aka Barkley): It doesn't matter that they (the Rockets) have MJ and Shaq and Yao and T-Mac and Lebron and Hakeem Olajuwon or that they have 15 rings. Those were all luck! They will still lose to the Hornets because they suck!

    Later...
They only won the title because they got lucky and (insert end-of bench player of choice) got injured. It doesn't mean they're a good team.

Point: the media will always hate on the Rockets.

I've been reading through all the Rockets hatin with a smile on my face . . . until now. How does ESPN employ someone who actually writes this crap? What a moron.

Because most folks didn't really follow the Rockets that closely this season the last image of T-Mac they have is him admitting that he didn't always give it his all or try his best when he was with Orlando.

They will hold him to that image of selfish guy who doesn't really care about winning or losing as long as he gets his.

We know that he was nothing like that this year. But it is the nature of the casual fan.

It is also the case that sometimes the negative story gets hyped out of proportion to the positive a player does. If a person is negatively inclined towards a player they will remember the negative longer and in a highlighted fashion when compared to the positive.

People still criticize for Francis for his draft day stunt. Those people don't give him credit for going so out of his way to make Yao feel at home, and be a friend to Yao.

You know what the ESPN.com front page has right now
"Rocky Mountain High" because Denver upset the Spurs by six...

Everyone was saying Dallas was the dark horse to win it all and no one really gave us a chance- then we upset Dallas and beat them by 12 points

Of course, the ESPN.com front page never picked it up --they had the preview to the Sonics and Kings game as the front page until early the next morning then it was switched to the preview to Heat vs. Nets...

To be fair its less of a surprise that we beat the Mavs than the Nugs beat the Spurs. After all we are the 5th seeded team playing the 4th and the Nugs are the 7th playing the 2nd.
