I hit a wall trying to get past this:

Memphis also is fielding offers for Mike Miller but is trying to include little-used, heavily compensated forward Brian Cardinal (two years remaining at $6.3M and $6.75M) in any deal.

Brian Cardinal makes WHAT???????????????????

Who is his agent? That guy is the best agent ever. Ever. EVER.

Most rediculous thing in the dumb Ben deal is that Bulls almost gave up Tyson for nothing. He is a long defender and young

It's also been reported that the Knicks were looking to deal Eddy Curry, but only if Jerome James could be packaged in the deal. Talk about a ridiculous contract; guy has a few good games in the playoffs and the Knicks give him a gigantic contract. Then again, I guess that's what happens when you got brains like that behind the organization.

snyder is an expired contract. CHuck and head are really cheap. Only James is in nobody-want catagory.

Bonzi also has an expired contract. Total of Bonzi and Snyder are 4.5M to 6M? I am not sure if they plus cash and picks are enough to get Mike miller. Rockets had to keep MJ for their own.

    scola
    brooks
    landry
    james
    francis
bonzi (for all intent and purposes)

pretty sure morey has done enough.

granted, if you have a way of turning james/snyder/head/sura's contract/picks into cassell or miller (yeah right).... then go for it. but to act like morey hasn't done his job is asinine. WE'RE 16-3 IN OUR LAST 19 GAMES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

mike james, steve francis, bonzi wells and kirk synder for mike miller and brian cardinal would work. and like i said in other threads, if the rockets are serious about winning a championship right now this really is a no brainer.

cardinal earns the same money mike james does. but cardinal is used to being a role player and he hustles everytime he gets on the court. he's also a solid shooter. no way he would be a worse option than mike james. plus, he seems to be a nice guy.

mike miller on the other hand is the consistent 3rd scoring option that neither rafer, shane or bonzi is. we would improve significantly. not only on offense (shooting!) but also on the defensive end. mike miller is not a great defender by any means but he's not worse than bonzi either. another advantage would be that miller would get luther head's minutes (= much less successful post up plays by opposing shooting guards).

it makes a lot of sense. do it right now, morey!

This team isnt good enough, and I guess you don't see that they need a real starting PG and still a capable 3rd scorer.

    Francis needs to be traded.
    As well as Luther.

We need a real point guard. Rafer seems to be more like shooting guard, the way he plays.

Why would Memphis let go of Cardinal and his big contract, only to pick another big contract in Mike James..

    1. We're not getting rid of Bonzi.

    2. We're trying to get Bibby. (Extreme longshot.)

    3. We're gonna wind up with Snyder and Luther gone and Delonte West in.

I was thinking that a package of Luther and Snyder might get us a useful experienced PG to share minutes with Rafer. AB has talent, but is a bit too raw to be a floor general.

Delonte West would be great, but the guy I've been thinking about is Chris Duhon (who, btw, dropped 34 points on Warriors... which I found hilarious).

Duhon gives the team what it needs-- good enough shooting so they can't leave him alone on the arc, steady ball handling and leadership, and a good defender who is better able to bang with bigger PGs than either Rafer or AB.

Just my humble opinion. Watch it happen.

Do you really believe the Rox would move Bonzi???

The only way I see us trading Bonzi is with a prearranged agreement between our trading partner and Bonzi and his agent that they are going to release him and he is going to sign back with us after sitting out a month or whatever. That is a long shot. Adelman ain't letting that guy go.

Our trade fodder is M. James, Snyder, Francis, Luther, draft picks, and cash. So, you've got to find a team willing to take on Mike James. Who dey? I don't think they are out there. The deal with the grizzlies that somebody brought up where we take back Brian Cardinal would probably work from Memphis' standpoint.........maybe....if we flipped them cash and a draft pick or two. But Les has to commit to the lux tax for us to do it, and we lose Bonzi along with future picks. Don't see it.

I think about the only guy we could add that Les would be willing to pay the tax for is Bibby. And I don't think we've got enough to entice Sac into a deal including Mike James.

Delonte is doable if we send Seattle cash and Snyder's expiring. Then it's a matter of if they want Luther too to do the deal. Delonte, to me, represents the most gettable option that would help us at the point. And frankly, I think he would be an upgrade over Luther. He's bigger, better defender, and I think on a team where he has more space to operate, his shooting percentages would go up even more. Really, he's already every bit the shooter Luther is.

West is crazy. At least the post-game interviews will be a livelier place.

Increasingly, I have to say the answer to this is no, and that is likely the reason we won't see any major moves.

The guy is shooting 56% (and 1-1 from 3!) this month, averaging 9.2 points, 5.3 boards, 2.7 assists with 2 turnovers a game...which isn't great, except that it's in only 20 minutes a game.

Obviously, if you can get Mike Miller, you give up Bonzi...but as has been mentioned, when to do that you have to take on Brian Cardinal, which means you have to include either Mike James (why would Memphis just swap salaries, especially when they are "heavy" at PG) or Shane Battier (who you definitely don't want to trade, if you are also trading Bonzi).

For some reason, I really like Delonte's game myself...the strange thing is he is really not getting the minutes on a horrible and developing Seattle team. Snyder/Head for Delonte doesn't work salary cap wise, though Snyder/Head for Delonte/Petro/Gelabale does....and the Sonics just recalled Gelabale from D-League.
