    I am not understanding why they wouldn't -- why not get some compensation for him leaving? Doesn't seem likely they'd be able to get anyone major in free agency to make up for his loss, to me.

    It's a negotiation strategy. LeBron might be less willing to leave Cleveland if he knows he's taking a paycut. Mutually assured destruction kind of thing.

    I agree, I don't want long term contracts for scrubs from another team. Cleveland is going to suck without LeBron and apathy will set in no matter what. So why further the madness by overpaying for SnT players who will not get you a championship. You might as well start rebuilding for 2011 - 2012 season, especially if Brian Shaw is the coach.

    NBA.com is reporting a blockbuster deal that would send Odom/bynum to the LA Lakers. WTF.
