Interesting... for years Snow was considered the best complement to Francis (big PG, doesn't need to score much, defends well) and now that we trade Francis away he is rumored to be a target. I would think we would need a smaller, quicker PG (I reckon a signed Lue does that?).

we'll still have lue off the bench.

Snow is a great fit, I don't know why people are so infatuated with Brent Barry. Barry would be fine... but Snow would be just as good. He's really strong and gets to the cup, overpowers smaller PGs, and has more PG experience.

Lue, Howard and Gaines must now remain with the Rox 60 days (unless traded before tomorrow night's moratorium kicks in), yes?

Any chance Gaines will get to 'mini-camp' with JVG?

I'd be OK with Snow. Good defender, playoff experience...

No offense, but that doesn't sound like a report. More like a douchebag once again playing armchair gm.

actually - it is also on Snow's insider profile, so that goes to "official" ESPN news not just Ford speculating

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?statsId=3045

I like him - he is a heady player - with great assist numbers.

We don't need 20 pts a night from our PG

Barry give you NO defense what so ever. I would gladly take Snow over Barry or Fisher...

Snow's contract runs through 2009. Not sure if I want a piece of that.

YIKES! - the guy will be like 36 when he is finished

...still he has not had any health problems, and considering I am older than him by a few months, I can't dog him too hard !

I'm still not sure on the status of the trade exception.

If we make this deal official while Francis is still BYC, I'm fairly sure that the TE will have to be involved. We're actually reducing our team salary by 2.5 million, but once we get official players involved, I think we'll have to take a look at the status of the exception.

I am not sure about Snow. I love his D and ball distribution. But this team looks like it is built to kick out the ball to the open man. We need a guards who can consistently knock down the open jumpers to relieve the double teaming. His 41% FG is good but his 3 pt percentage is .111 - not close to acceptable.

We don't need a gunner but we need somebody whom other teams will be afraid to leave open for a jump shot, IMHO.

so if we are reducing our salary by $2.5 million, then wouldn't we get another TE equal to that number? if so, could it be added to the one we already have?

remember this is chad ford we are talking about again. This guy changes his information faster than any one else. Can't really trust him, but overall i think snow is a good choice because he is a good defender and puts pressure on the point like JVG wants.

Exactly, and you are talking about an average of 6.4 millions per year through 09. Snow would be a good addition basketball wise, but we can do better for taking that amount of money on through a TE.

Now you get them to take Spoon for Mckie, and the TE for Snow, that I might do. At least you be reducing one redundent and bloated contract of the roster.

If this deal went through I'd pass on Barry and throw all the MLE at a PF/backup like Camby, E Thomas or Swift.

If Rudy T was the coach you know he would go after a guy like Crawford but Van Gundy wants a boring type player (snow or fisher) to run the point since turnovers drive him crazy.
