Well, at least they would have tried. Plus, we have a pick to offer as well, right?

Yeah, an upgrade at small forward, not an addition.

IMO, Chandler is not an upgrade from Budinger or Battier.

This would be reeking of doing a trade just to make one, something Morey doesn't do.

    Some more Melo-Drama.

Now this guy is saying he is open to re-signing with the Nuggets.

WTF? This dude doesn't know what to do.

Jeffries can play from 2 to 5. He was a starting SG for the Wizards.

No drama. He's been saying this all along. He wants to leave things until free agency then he'll decide.

I hate analysis like these. How good was the Lakers before Gasol? How good was Miami with Wade without Shaq?

How good was Boston with Pierce w/o Allen and Garnett?

How good was Miami with Wade w/o James and Bosh?

I know what you mean man.

Could Randolph start at SF for us, in place of Battier in the current lineup? That is, like the role Robert Horry played as an athletic weak-side shot blocker next to OT and Dream when the Rockets won their first title. Or is he strictly best utilized as a PF?

How did the media come to the conclusion that New York is in the driver's seat for Carmelo? Must be the same big market and glamor lure that convinced LeBron to take his talents there.

All they have to offer Denver is question marks.

I was thinking the other day about why the Rockets would be involved from a pick perspective in the first place.

The problem that the Knicks face is clear: they need draft pick currency. Because we have their 2012 pick, their 2011 (lesser of ours and theirs) and 2013 picks are locked up. If they can get a 2012 pick, it frees them up to trade their 2011 and 2013 picks.

As you said, picks seem to go fairly cheaply, so why is it so hard for them to get these picks? It's all about their trade partners managing downside risk. Even to the Lakers or Heat, one or two key injuries can knock those picks from late 20s to potentially the lottery, where anything can happen.

Teams usually avoid this risk by putting basic protection on the picks -- ie, top 10, lottery protected, etc. and usually add options. The problem is, the Knicks would need this completely free and clear (no protections whatsoever) if they want to trade their own picks. And who wants to risk trading a top 3 pick for Wilson Chandler? That makes picks an expensive asset for them to purchase.

Don't worry, Morey does not lose trades.

Even if the Knicks land Melo, Morey will find some poor fool to get something back for them.

Either that or the player he drafts with those pick will become the greatest player to ever play the game.

    Trust in Morey.

    Agree...
Rockets are delaying too much to trade, this could be an example...
Trading for players like Iggy was possible, using one of the picks before they become worthless...

Knicks are managing their players contracts to expire within 2 years, so that they will have more cap space for Paul.

Paul will also get more millions more in endorsements in NY than New Orleans.

Randolph is very capable of playing that SF role, He isn't the 3point threat that Robert Horry was, but he's 6'11, has tremendous hops, and is at least quick enough to guard SF's. I think if he put the work in, he could be an elite defender and shot blocker in this league.

Too dumb to play for Nellie or Pringles and you want him under Adelman's system?
