I think my trade is borderline fantasy. But I also think the trades for McGrady + Cook for Ellis/Maggette/Randolph is crazy as well. Golden State is getting talent back in my trade though in Ariza an Anderson. They also get $26.5 million in expiring contracts. Pretty good I'd say.

You really have no idea what you're talking about with this superficial "analysis." How many people in this thread have to tell you that his game doesn't resemble Swift's? It's obvious from your comments on Randolph you really haven't seen him play.

Kwame, it's not that Randolph's basketball skills resembles Slomile, but rather that they both appear to be intellectually impaired. They have no BB IQ.

They appear to be dumb basketball players incapable of understanding the complexities of NBA ball. All the talent in the world can not compensate for a lack of brainpower.

That said, I would take a flyer on the kid based on the skill of our coaching staff and the player-coaches on the floor like Battier.

I love the obvious you haven't seen him play trick to try to dissuade or discredit someone else.

Ah, but amigo, I have seen him play, a lot...and one of the reasons he is NOT playing as much is that he makes a LOT of mistakes......

The guy does not look like he is all that heady of a player....now, it may be Nellie's system, but if you look stupid in that easy of a system, what will you look like in a cerbral one like Rick's?

I was going to post these very things. Well said. Hopefully he we would be open to direction from the coaches and vets on the team. I would also trade for him at the right price and hope for the best

Lol @ Slomile. Those that are saying he's Stromile Swift version 2.0 aren't making the same distinction you are. Either way, I don't see a bball IQ issue other than the normal learning curve for a young player (only 20 yrs old) who's only had one year of college bball and is making a transition to the NBA. He can already lead a fast break at this level. That requires some bball iq right? Have you ever seen Shane Battier on a fast break? It's not pretty. Given Randolph's erratic pt and treatment he's been getting in GState, I think he's done quite well on and off the court. Also, he's already, in his 2nd year, better than Swfit in every way imaginable. His skill set, which is very unique amongst guys his height in the NBA, should be taken into account as well. It's just a poor comparison bringing up Stromile Swift vis-a-vis Randolph.

Messing around on ESPN Trade Machine (for fun). It hasn't been saving for me so here it is. It is a little messy but it makes sense for all teams.

    Rockets
Get: Randolph, B. Wright, Claxton, D. Cook, D. Wright
    Trade: McGrady

    Warriors
    Get: JO, Outlaw
Trade: Randolph, B.Wright, Claxton, Biedrins, Turiaf

    Blazers
    Get: Biedrins
    Trade: Miller, Outlaw

    Heat
    Get: Tmac, Miller, Turiaf
    Trade: JO, D. Wright, Cook

    Why each team does this.
    Houston:
Get turn the clock back with young lengthy athletic talent accompanied by short low risk 1-2 yr. contracts.

    Golden State:
Get to hit the ultimate reset button with a chance to get into the playoffs if they want to with the addition of Outlaw and JO.

    Portland:
Get a decent big in Biedrins to replace or watch the paint for Oden and to rid themselves of roster trouble in Miller taking minutes from Roy's P/SG duties. While giving Fernandez a lift in minutes.

    Miami:
Gets to stir the pot and recover Wade's interest while being able to make a mini run for the playoffs with the addition of Miller, a scrappy C in Turiaf, and yours truly.

That would be a great addition to our 28 man roster.

I would like to see Outlaw and Raldolph on our roster :p
We would have to trade some players just about to start the downward slope of their Careers :p

I couldn't care less about "upside" right now. I think offering one player that fit's GS team with similar production should be enough. I prefer Landry, but if Morey thinks Randolph is better, i trust him, bit trading Landry for Randolph would be my best offer to them.

Upside, is something that might happen, but not a sure thing, not deserving of great offers.

Looks like if the Rox want Randolph then it might take them taking on Maggette's contract also...

Yep, that is where Houston's interest ends.
