Another rape imo. Maggette=No Deal for me unless we find a third partner like i did above. But, doing that mean we have to send other good players to that third team.

how does that make sense when it leaves us with brooks, lowry AND Monta at point?? That's a waste of talent/salary waiting to happen.

Monta is a combo guard any ways and could play the 2. It means we will be smaller but we've been small all along and will still have Battier and Ariza to put at 2 spot if it is giving us any problems defensively.

No doubt we don't do it FOR Maggette, but rather for Randolph and Ellis....Maggette becomes a poison pill like Cook was...

I think that is the only way you get something like this done.....and there might be some team out there willing to take Maggette on at some point in the future.

Is houston is serious about acquiring randolph i think Ariza could be considered because it's GS. He'd go back close to LA, and depending on the players involved, he could still get a big role in GS, which is what he wants. Let's remember Morey is all about getting undervalued players at bargain prices because it allows you to either have good players without giving much, or allows you to flip them for greater talent. Ariza has already shown he's a bargain at 5 mill and should get better. That could appeal to teams and with Budinger improving more and more it could make it easier for Houston to decide to include Ariza in a deal...

also, GS either wants expirings ot young talent, so i'd say JT should also be considered as part of a deal...doubt houston would consider Budinger.

That's not going to work out full time and really only works with a traditional point, which brooks isn't. Lowry and monta could run together, but that again means monta's minutes would be limited to playing with lowry, so it's a wasted of money. Monta makes too much money not to start and get his 35 mins+ a game.

Yeah i know that, but that only makes sense if it was just Randolph and Corey...

but having Monta in the deal(i know it makes numbers match), they are just bending over for Morey basically.

Yeah, i'd like to see how Adelman would play it. I believe he could get it to work. Monta would see the floor a lot, because the Rockets NEED scoring in a bad way at times, Monta can provide that.

Plus if it doesn't work, there is no such thing as having too many good players, someone will just get traded, that is a deal i'd have to do getting Randolph and Monta...

SOMEONE is going to lose minutes regardless. If the team improves it doesn't matter.

Man, our team would be so stacked if this happened.

    Brooks/Lowry
    Ellis/Budinger
    Battier/Maggette
    Scola/Randolph
    Hayes/Landry/Anderson

    What happened to Ariza?

On topic: Randolph is incredibly athletic and skilled. He can handle the ball better than most SG's. He's aggressive, yet immature. Let Morey find his value.

Put Ariza in front of Battier.

Put me down for this and then next year:

    Brooks/Lowry
    Ellis/Buddinger
    Ariza/Battier/Maggette
    Randolph/Landry
    Yao/Hayes/Anderson

I left out Scola because I'm not sure if we could resign him after all of these changes. Even if we could where would he play? This is one rediculously deep team.

Next year Battier is an expiring contract and you could flip him along with Brooks and or Landry for something really good.

I dont think the improvement is enough to compete with the best teams out there, to maximize scoring you'd have to go small and that would make us worse defensively...plus i dont think his talents are fully used on a team like this. He'd be held down some by this offense, making him not worth the money you're paying him, with Brooks continuin to improve i rather have brooks at a bargain price. We need a true SG to compete with the best

Not too sure if Golden State will readily part with Randolph.

They just lost Mikki Moore to injury, which means they've lost 3 big men this season. (Biedrins, Turiaf, Moore)

I'm thinking they won't trade unless they get another post player in return.

That just depends on their mindset. If they're just looking to unload big contracts and players they're having problems with and start over, then they're having problems with both Monta and Randolph and apparently the GS fans hate Maggette. So they get rid of the big, long term expensive deals of Ellis and Maggette. They get rid of two players the fans love but the organization doesn't, but they also get rid of a guy the fans are booing regularly. Who knows. I think it could be possible.

I'm still hoping they'll decide to blow it up in New Orleans though.

DD, you're not fooling anyone. You've had a boner for Maggette since last season.

Since last season? I'm pretty sure this has been going on for years. But in fairness, he does seem to realize that Maggette is the baggage in this trade and not the focal point of.
