Good to see, and Carl is right, if the Nets are out of it then I don't see anyone else making that kind of play for Scola....Hopefully.
I believe this (being cheap all the time) is not the right way to treat a player like Scola. The whole world is watching.
Yes and no. I think Scola deserves a nice payday. But I also want the Rockets to be able to have as much 2011 cap room as possible. Getting Scola on the cheap would be HUGE towards that goal. Also, how stupid do New Jersey and Chicago feel now for GIVING AWAY starters to Washington for nothing? In Chicago's case, it also cost them the #17 pick. The funniest part of it is, I doubt the Bulls will be able to use their remaining cap room to get a player as good as Kirk Hinrich! (I know if was worth a shot, but come on! Wouldn't Washington have been willing to make those deals contingent or something? Maybe it would have cost New Jersey or Chicago a little more for the Wizards' trouble. But really??? Poor GM'ing, if you ask me.)
Nothing new... Just confirmation of what we knew. http://twitter.com/GeryWoelfel Knicks opting for Felton over Ridnour; Nets set to make big offer for Scola, although Rockets will likely match it..
What a bunch of dummies. Driving up the price. Almost want Morey to saddle them with a bad contract and let the Rocket go with Patterson because he so promising but Scola is an integral part. So hope Morey returns the favor on their next restricted they say they will match also.
Chad Ford now has Scola as the 2nd best free agent still available behind Shaq. Lowry is now in the top 15 as well.
I'd be sad but I would literally laugh my ass off if the Rockets didn't match and he got stuck with the Nets
1. Shaquille O'Neal, Cavs Potential destinations: Mavs, Spurs, Cavs, Hawks In Cleveland, Shaq had to play second fiddle to LeBron to try to prove he could still win a title. Ultimately, the experiment failed. Shaq is clearly slowing down and, at times, it seemed that he hindered more than helped the Cavs. He turned 38 years old in March and has played more games than any other active player in the league. Still, there's probably a GM or two willing to offer him millions on a two- or three-year contract. The Hawks seem to have shown the most interest so far. Shaq has also coveted playing for the Mavs for a long time. 2. Luis Scola, Rockets (R) Potential destinations: Nets, Rockets, Heat, Knicks, Raptors Scola proved once again this season to be a legit threat in the paint for the Rockets. He's already 30, so he doesn't have more than one big contract in him. Given that the Rockets have traded away Carl Landry and used up all their cap space, I expect they'll re-sign Scola. However, the Argentine big man could see some interest from some of the big-cap-room teams. The Nets have been pursuing Scola since losing out on many of the top free agents.
