Once they sign an offer letter the S&T arrangement is off the table.

Did we treated him as 'loyal guy'?

Who photoshoped Chris Bosh in rocket uniform with scola's backnumber #4?
If you were Scola and saw that picture, would you be a loyal guy?

Utah probably needs to blow up their team, because what they have right now will be 9th-10th in the WC for a few years and they have no cap space.

I don't think that factors in one way or the other, Scola is a professional and has been one for quite some time.

Filling up salary is never difficult. Just look at how the Clippers and the Grizzlies operate. If the Nets aren't contending, they can simply take on salary with 1st round picks from teams wanting to shed salary.

They offer him a David Lee contract, they can have him for a TE S&T and a 2nd round pick. I love him to death, but we'll be okay with Patterson and Hill.

Being brutally honest, I don't have a ton of hope for the remaining bit of the Yao era. With all of our assets, I'm interested in flipping into the next one well.

Assuming LeBron isn't a Knick, those NY picks are priceless gold.

He's professional but he's also human and no one wants to be made to feel like they are the second choice.

He is a professional, but I am sure it bugged him a bit.

Scola likes to win. I'm sure he won't settle for just having a fat check. But to offer him less than 9m is an insult.

    Loyalty's overrated.

Morey's "I'll take 2 weeks to match" Hammer is not, though. Any team want to potentially miss out on other FA for the sake of OVERPAYING for a 30 yr old power forward...? I wouldn't bet on it.

Since the rockets tried to acquire Bosh/Stoudemire so hard, they must think Scola is not the answer for the PF position. I think they should let Scola go, and give Hill & PP more opportunities. They might be able to develop into the players that the rockets want.

Not that I want Scola out, but:

    Favors
    Scola
    Lopez

    Scary frontcourt.

I would understand Morey did not want to resign Scola before the season was over. He wanted to have chance to get Bosh and also like to low ball players as he did to Landry. But with so many desperate team with cap space, Rockets could end up losing Scola or have to pay double the normal price.

If I am a player, I would not like the team to left me hanging in the air.
Morey is smart, but sometime I felt he is cold-blooded. ( maybe that is a requirement for being a manager)
