There is no coherent argument for taking Bryant over Harden right now.

I agree, I know you didn't mention Kobe but wanted to mention (I'm surprised to see so many Kobe fanatics here though) that Kobe has had much longer to polish his game. I'm sure Harden focused mostly on his offense game this past summer also since he was with OKC then as you said that is what he was being mainly used for since they have those dedicated defense guys there. I'm sure the coaches and Harden himself know what to work on this summer... the guy has great work ethics, I'm excited to see what progress comes next season.
Harden may be better than Duncan next year, but no way he is better now. If we exchange Harden with Duncan, I think we could make a run in the playoffs..
Considering the Spurs won't go anywhere without Parker, I doubt we'd go anywhere if you replaced Harden with Duncan.

I don't like Westbrook in the top 5. Harden is way more impressive. The only reason I can see for Westbrook being on top is his defense. All the more reason for Harden to improve in that area.
How many players do you know that can induce a game winning goal tend? Find me just one outside of the Beard...
WB's defense is not that good. He gambles way too much. Kobe is 10 at best. Can't even lead his team out of the lottery and he plays defense almost as poorly as Harden. Less efficient scorer and less team success as well.
I am a lurker and watch the Rockets quite often and I must say that Harden is not as good as people hype him up to be. The guy is a black hole and a volume shooter. Today's game is a good example how he can blow up a team with his selfishness and 9 turnovers. Often times the Rockets will leave points on the board because instead of passing for an easy lay-up, Harden will take it to the hole himself for his own gain instead making an easy pass. He can be at times a very frustrating player to watch.
What are you talking about? Are you saying they'd have a shot if you replaced Duncan and Parker with Harden, or what? Or are you saying that the Rockets have a better shot vs. OKC?
I was responding to Wincans post that we could make a run if we had Duncan. My point was his supporting cast here would be just as bad as his supporting cast without Parker in San Antiono.
