Thanks for the file. It's interesting to see how we are going to play the Mavs. From the tone of his voice, it sounds like Gundy and him had talk over this after last night's game.
GREAT that Tmac is speaking up. Every success the team has had has been a result of them going off the JVG plan and simply winging it. The team is talented, and needs to maximize it's possessions, JVG will have to adjust or he will lose the team. And, if that happens his career is dead. He is REALLY close to losing the team right now.. DD
man, just listeend to the interview. he really laid it out there, its up to JVG now to respond and open up the offense
I think we can run the break with TMac inside in defensive rebounding position. He can bring the ball up court, and take it to the rack. It's not necessarily the classic break but running the ball down the floor and into the paint causes so much stress and pressure on the defense that they get worn down and all of a sudden we get wide open jumpers or little layups in the 4th quarter. Besides that, Barrett and Sura are uptempo players. You can see them straining at the leash that Van Gundy has on them. They need to be turned loose. Both of them get out fairly quickly with Barrett getting out the quickest. I think Yao has picked it up a little bit on the defensive end and is just going after the basketball instead of trying to "help" his power forwards get the rebounds. The coach should tell his starting PF that he has to crash the boards and if he doesn't, he is coming out quick. We keep running the PF's in there until we find someone willing to crash the boards and get the ball out. With Yao, TMac, and the other interior player going after the ball, there is no reason for Barrett, Sura, to be inside clogging up the paint. They should release and wait for the outlet and run, run, run...............under control. Because of his ball handling skills, TMac is excellent at getting the board and immediately putting the ball in the floor and flying up court. He doesn't stand around waiting for the PG. He just starts up the floor dribbling the ball and then looking for the pass. JJ and Sura can do the same thing. With any combination of those players on the floor with Barrett, one of them should be designated to go to the glass with the 2 big men and the other two should fade release for the outlet pass or be in position to run the wings on the break.
Legend, Miguel.....if you guys get overrun with hits, let me know, Ill get it onto the big vid server....
Good interview. Looks like he has moved into his house now as he was sitting in the indoor basketball court for the interview. The only reason I know this is because I work for Houston Lifestyles & Homes magazine and we featured the house earlier in the year when Shane Reynolds still owned it. I remembered the picture of the court with the sign that said "The Porch" on it. Anyway, just something I noticed. I wonder how JVG felt about his comments on the system and how he feels it should change.
im scared that Tmac might start some dissagreement with JVG... he might get his minutes taken away if so... FIRE JVG!!!
Im still not able to watch the the video. Is there another website that i can download that Codec thing?
I can't believe TMac moved into Shane Reynold's old house. It is 2 Houses down from my best friends house!!!! We saw Shane Reynold's outside with his little girls all the time, hopefully we will see TMac just as much.
I think it was very bold for tracy to say the things he did. But, I really hope he has discussed things with van gundy before saying these things.
Thanks a lot. Sincerely hoping that JVG could deal with the uptempo and adaptation issues in a positive manner.
Tmac said those things only for the sake of the Rox so I don't think there's a need to discuss them with JVG before the interview. I also hope Yao would speak out his opinion. Yao has to release himself from the "culture" he got from his life in China. This is USA and NBA basketball. If he wants to succeed, he got to do it the "US" way.
