I don't care for the song that always pops up during these segments. "MAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHH." Whiney man voice is just terrible music in my opinion. But other than that they're ok. I usually just skip over these segments and just want to get the baseball scores an highlights while flipping through AS, and whatever is on Comedy Central. I'm glad the children with these terminal illnesses get to meet their favorite sports heroes, but I don't really care for the journalism. The intentions are good, but yea I don't care for the piano playing dramatization.
I watched the one where the kid got to attend a Mariner game and they signed him. He got a uniform, place to sit in the locker room, and hit a T ball. They wheeled him around the bases -very touching-I had to put the spoon down on my oatmeal. That kid jumping up and down when his player got the hit was awesome. For what it's worth- that kid had fun. Good TV
It's nice that they do these things for these kids, but does every positive thing athletes do HAVE to be televised? It gets really old. Especially during the NBA playoffs when they came back from every commercial break with "[insert team name] cares about its community."
not every positive thing they do gets televised or promoted. i'm pretty sure T-mac and others do other stuff behind the scenes that doesnt get promoted. The nba playoff thing thats just coz the commish wants the country to know that his league doesnt contain a bunch of thugs, i guess.
