[ESPN] Most media members don't like Dwight Howard!

It's not just the media that dislike Howard. Regular NBA fans seem to dislike him also. He is easily one of the top 3 best center in the league. Yet fans seem think that he is just your above average center. I guess the media brainwash works.

 

You get used to it. The first year we won the NBA Finals, we (Houston) were dissed by Sports Illustrasted in 1994 when the Rockets won their first Title...

 

Dwight has been awesome, period.

 

Winning cures all. I remember how much LeBron was despised after The Decision, but after winning a ring he was embraced by fans and media alike.

Media members getting it from their bosses for not making coverage of Lakers exciting so they're taking it out on Howard. Looking for any possible signs of discontent and friction among the Rockets, anything, however slight, to pounce with schadenfreude.

 

Wait, it's really shocking that Howard may not be liked by everyone? Even after the crap he pulled in Orlando?

 

I don't think this is true. There may be people still bitter about last offseason, but that's it.

 

A lot of opposing teams fans don't like Dwight because he doesn't play for their team. He if went to their team, they would love him. And who cares who the media likes or dislikes.

 

Cool. Most people don't like media members, so I guess it evens out in the end.

And im sure when we win a chip they will say he was just riding hardens coat tails even though he's the whole defense and 2nd option on offense. This guy gets no love from anyone and is easily the best center since 2001 Shaq. (I love Yao and think he coulda been top 10 center all time but injuries) Dwight's a beats a real superstar.

You guys want to know a little secret on why this team is so good? It's a use Howard and Harden are playing like top 5 players in the league at the same time. Any team that gets that kinda production from there 2 best players is a favorite to win not a dark horse. This team right here can beat anyone and it all starts with the big guy and the beard.

The Dwight Howard hate is pretty blatant these days by media and fans alike. I was critical of Dwight as well early on but I'm sooo glad we have him on the Rox now. His presence changed this team into a contender. Just got through watching ridiculous ESPN halftime discussion comparing Joakim Noah to Dwight. Media and fans have been trying to tout Joakim Noah as the best center in the NBA because of Bulls good play in the pathetic Leastern Conference this year. Noah is NOT a better player or center than Dwight. Like JVG expressed the other night, Dwight is the best center in the league and its not even close.

 

You're right on. Howard is big on getting Rockets to 3rd seed, yet fans are saying he was just riding along with Harden. Rockets would not be this good without Howard. Without him, I think Rockets is probably chasing 8 seeds right now because of all the injuries that we have this year.

 

ESPN is the Lakers' media. It's been that way for quite some time. They are still feeling e butthurt from last year and are still too blind to see that the Lakers aren't THE NBA team anymore. Lakers' homerism is Kobe is still the best, purple and gold is the glitter of the NBA, the Lakers are just reloading for their next run, and Dwight was too shallow to stay in the spotlight. But the reality is Kobe is an overpaid, old, broken team captain who is a prima donna to even the biggest prima donnas and the Lakers will have quite a few rough years ahead that no one in their right mind would want to waste their best years on.
