[ESPN] Mike Leach suspended after player complaint

The James family really screwed up big here.

 

How? It's not like this kid was playing much anyways and his Dad will be fine.
I personally think Adam and his dad were acting like a bunch of p*****s, but I don't really see how they screwed themselves. TT is the only party that is screwing themselves over this IMO.

 

TT is a b**** for firing Leach the day before he was owed $800,000.

I hope they get their asses kicked in court.

 

To me the stuff being said about Adam is pretty damning. The guy has come off as a spoiled brat, and is embarrassing for the whole family.

 

His dad was protecting his son....I doubt he knew he had such a suck wad attitude.

how is the timing of what leach did Tech's fault?

Clearly this Adam kid is a douche, and the whole family feels entitled, but leach is ultimately responsible for his actions, which in this case, in this day and age and knowledge of concussions, is very questionable.

The James family (Adam) sucks, Leach is strange and made a monumentally poor decision, and Tech is handling very poorly. Idiocy abounds!

 

Did anyone else watch ESPN this afternoon where they said several players were relieved Leach had been fired and said James couldn't be blamed for having a concussion? This would indicate the a lot of the players support James and not Leach.

 

At this point, I wouldn't believe ESPN if they told me the sky was blue.

 

I would say no. It is poor judgment. It would deserve some disciplinary action by the school. It would not be a crime and would not merit termination.

I doubt that it was that simple though. The truth is somewhere in the middle. If Leach had guys watching James to make sure he did not leave the room, it is imprisonment, a crime at Texas law, and it should have resulted in his immediate dismissal.

 

So is detention in School Imprisonment too?
I mean . .this is still a school right?

i'd hate to be those James' kids walking around campus come spring time. Not exactly #1 popular...

 

this is going to decimate their recruiting class... i bet aggie is a big benefactor of this.

 

I doubt it will decimate their recruiting class. Especially if they bring in an offensive mind like Briles or Dykes. A lot of the big schools are already finished the majority of their recruiting for the 2010 class. They have maybe like four or five spots at most left. Texas A&M has 23 verbal commitments. I think the recruiting limit is 25 scholarships not including junior college players.

how do you figure? odds are most of those recruits agreed to come to tech because of leach. perhaps it won't "decimate" their class, but i'd be surprised if this doesn't have a significant affect.

 

I said it should have resulted in immediate dismissal IF it was false imprisonment. The fact that Tech officials may or may not have demanded an apology to make it go away does not change what I believe should have been the outcome.

 

His point is that A&M will not benefit from this as their recruiting class was already filled prior to Leach's dismissal.

 

The timing of what Leach did isnt tech's fault...but if you really think that Tech firing Leach, 1 day before he was due $800,000, is pure coincidence, then I really dont know what to say. TT has done a terrible job in dealing with this situation.
