Yeah, I'm not sure what the point of even writing that was for Holgorsen. That said, after reading everything, I'm on Leach's side. I don't think what he did was "PC", but I don't think it was some grave thing that warrants a suspension and especially not to be fired.

From wide receiver coach Lincoln Riley - "Two practices before Adam James claimed he had a consussion, Coach Leach and I were forced to discipline him for poor effort from the previous practice and poor effort during the early drills of that day. This has been a common theme about Adam's work ethic and attitude during ...his entire career ... He complained to me that we were not doing our jobs as coaches and that his effort was just fine ... I have no doubt that anger from this led to where we are today with this situation and is his way of trying to 'get back' at us coaches."

    Closer?

No...SMU invented running a slush fund through the governor's office in order to pay players.

The fact that the fund went right through the office of the state governor netted SMU the death penalty. It was not just paying players, and certainly was not the fault of any individual player.

    How about this...

If you lock somebody in a closet, it is a crime. It is called false imprisonment.

Does that add a little perspective?

If that is really what happened, and I were a young DA in Lubbock, I'd be all over this.

It's relevant because, fair or not, the character of the accuser always comes into play in high-profile cases like this. That's just the way it is. Justice isn't blind and never has been. But I think we can be sure the pertinent facts will come out in this case because of the intense national spotlight.

For people who think Leach will be fired Wednesday or Thursday in light of a supposed $800,000 payment he is due according to his contract: Forget about it. $800,000 is small potatoes now. I doubt that will have any effect on their decision. If they fire Leach without having every single solitary duck lined up in a perfect row, they will severely regret it. But if the facts show what Leach did was truly egregious, he is a goner and rightfully so.

I thought Leach told the dude he was going to sit in bins and the guy obliged. He just didn't like what he had to endure.

we're talking about college football. it has more than its share of arrogant, lazy kids. we might like to lock them all in an electrical room. we probably shouldn't.

Locking a kid in a room isn't the worst thing that's been done to lazy, arrogant college football players. I'm not condoning what was done at all, but if Leach is dismissed over this, a huge chunk of college football coaches should be fired.

Question for you: If what happened was truly abusive to the kid, why did Tech give Leach the opportunity to apologize before suspending him? You shouldn't be able to apologize for a "fireable" offense IMO.

Let the entire truth roll out before rendering final judgment. If the facts bury Leach, I'll help shovel some of the dirt. And I hope people who have already made up their mind to support him will too.

Lets not blow this out of proportion. Lets add against his/her will. I think AJ was free to walk out. He would have been kicked off the team, but he accepted punishment when he signed up to play football.

IMO isolation in an air conditioned room doesn't rise to the level of unacceptable punishment. Humiliating and embarassing? Yes. Cruel and mistreatment? Not so much.

It sounds like the AD was waiting for a "a ha I got you" to fire Leach. At this point Leach may want to be fired. Tech's admin doesn't support him as shown by his suspension without completing the investigation. Would you want to return? If I were him I'd sue the pants off Tech on my way out.

well that's a bit over the top. I heard a report that it wasnt actually a closet at all and that he wasnt actually physically locked in there.

If you were a young DA in Lubbock and took this up, you wouldnt be a very good DA

exactly, which is why a good DA would not go jumping on this story until more is known.
