If so many "hooked-in baseball sources" are saying that there was a deal in place that fell apart only because of McLane saying no...who were the prospects we were going to get? (Sorry, I didn't want to keep reading that POS)...

Stark is full of ****! He, and all the other espn baseball writers are just a bunch of Red Sox sympathizers... what he meant to say was "McLane fails to do the right thing for the Red Sox"

The New York and Bahhston baseball network can't handle it that one of the games all time greats would rather play in his hometown than in "the only baseball cities that actually matter"..so they concoct this **** and bull story.

I was working in the TV production room at MMP last year during the series...and you should have heard all the ESPN (and to a lesser extent National Fox guys ((the Fox Sports SW/Houston guys are great)) were all like "Why are we even here, no one is watching this." All I can say is if MLB wants thier beloved Yankees or BoSox in the series every year they need to make the playing field even more uneven...cause even with the 100 trillion dollar payrolls I don't think the Yanks and Sox are that good.

That depends on how you look at it . .

At the moment, the results appear as a nice extended bird shooting eastward. ;)
