Hell I would too if the right deal came along, but if it doesn't I say keep him and lets see if he can make a come back. I don't think we should just trade him for anything we need a deal that can make us better as a team.

Yeah, except that it is wrong, he has let his teamates down a ton, he has quit on them a few times in Houston, he quit on them in Orlando, he throws them under the bus, doesn't take blame for his own mistakes.

And yes, his body has broken down, so has him lying about injuries when he is dealing with a nasty out of wedlock child court case in Orlando, or when he quit on his Orlando teamates at the end of the year because their record was so bad...the guy is just not credible.

The problem with Tracy is he is Peter who has cried wolf once too often, he is just not worth the hassle on this team.

This Rockets team is a hard working team that plays together with team oriented ball.

Tracy could fit into that style, but he has b****ed and moaned about it ever since Adelman got here about not getting his shots.

The guy wants to be THE guy on the floor, and the Rockets can not afford to put that much emphasis on a low efficiency, whining, quitting, player whose health breaks down more often than a Yugo.

Sorry, Tracy had his chance, he blew it, time for the Rockets to get more value from the $23 million they are paying him....

I am glad he is working hard, I hope he gets healthy.....because then, we can get rid of this guy for much more on the open market by finding another sucker who is willing to take a gamble on physical talent and mental jello !

    AT THIS POINT
    as insane as it sounds

TMAC's expiring contract is worth more than a Healthy TMAC
I mean .. . in trade . .. we can get Two GOOD players for TMAC
    Maybe even some future.

Next Year - Does a HEALTHY T-MAC guarantee the Finals? No.

If we win it all next year . . with a healthy TMAC
Does he get another 23 million dollar contract? If so, For how Long?

Unless TMAC . .. Healthy or otherwise . . . is going to take a significant pay cut
Next year will be his last year as a Rocket . . . healthy or not. IMO

Seeing as that is the case. . . . If we win it all . . . TMAC's Value is in Sign and Trade
but then you will be in a weaker position . . .
cause. . .I think folx would prefer a 23 million dollar reduction for the Lebron chase
than 23+ Million dollars addition to their team for some 4~5 yrs

All-NBA is not a popularity contest. You are confusing it with the all-star team.

Training may not have anything do with broken bones. A bad personal trainer(most of the guys at 24hr-fitness) can screw up the back, rotator cuff, and cause serious injury. Some personal trainers advise clients to use momentum on crappy exercises with bad form that causes injuries. They end up with serious pain and soft tissue damage.

I agree with you a little Rocket River but I believe a Healthy Tmac with his contract combined in a trade could get this team something spectacular. The one player that could be our now, future and ready contributor in talent. If we trade tmac i would home it would be for a real mvp candidate.

Maybe we should whip out the "Deke should have been in there, or Landry took the wrong angle" When it was Tmac who tipped the ball away.

There are so many cases of this guy just running and ducking for cover, he is jello, even players in the NBA call him soft, Q-Rich said you hit him, he backs down.

We need tougher players than Tracy, he had his chance in Houston, he blew it, Sayanara....

Give me a player who plays harder and tougher and doesn't quit on his teamates over a guy gifted with natural gifts who does.

And as a purely asset management move, Tmac is not worth $23 million for next year....even if he is moderatly healthy.....so you trade him while his contract is high....

Tmac was a great offensive player, who is just not mentally tough.

Trade him for some young up and coming player from a team that is leaking money....

    This team has moved on...

    Just more truth for ya...

I don't think McGrady's health will have much to do with any deal that returns something spectacular in return. If such a deal does take place, I think it will be almost entirely due to his expiring contract. Even if McGrady plays like he did 2 seasons ago for a few months, that won't fool any GM/owner that knows his history into thinking he's a long-term piece. The fact that he's playing well won't make them suddenly willing to give up something spectacular. If they are giving up some stud player(s), it will likely mean they are non-contenders at that point and are just concerned with saving money while planning to let McGrady go as soon as his contract runs out.

Fortunately, some of us are smart enough not firesale an asset and get ground chuck in return.

Hyperbole doesn't make your case Dada. You can exaggerate all you want, but T-mac isn't the cancer you make him out to be.

And the "this team has moved on..." - repeat it all you want. Believe it as you believe, with your full heart.

I for one, am going to keep an open mind and give the guy a chance.

In that scenario, teams don't want t-mac's contract now, they want it on Feb 22nd - so they absorb as little as the 23 million as possible.

I like your optimism but my guess would be that even if McGrady is playing like the McGrady of 2 years ago, Morey will still be working the phones actively for the best possible deals. In fact, McGrady playing well may even increase his activity. I don't think Morey believes the hype of 2010 free agency so he will be trying to prey on other teams that do. He will be looking for a couple of solid pieces that will be part of the team long after several teams walk away from the 2010 sweepstakes empty-handed.

Are you serious or just trying to be funny..........

You defend him at every single turn, it is ok to be a fan of his.

Ok, so, Mister give the guy a chance, what do you expect from Tmac if he stays a Rocket?

What do you expect him to be this year.....?
