I'm just wondering. Are assessing the majority of the trade values based on McGrady's bust season or his after-rehab-uncertain-health value? The only acceptable and promising trade ideas should be based on McGrady's expiring contract, not his skills. Either way, I have no idea why the majority of this board is either downplaying his value or overrating his skills and health. The best scenario for the Rockets is to wait until pre-season camp or until his condition and skill is finalized. That way, we know whether what is given away will benefit from a good return or not. That being said, the window is closing for the Rockets. We either rebuild or win within the next couple of seasons. It becomes more of an experience vs skills situation at this point in my opinion. Skills does not necessarily bring experience (Von Wafer), nor does experience bring skills and effort (McGrady).
With the way this team is stacked up to be I will always believe!!!!!! Its not all on McGrady though. Yao has to step up. Artest ( if he is resigned ) as to step up. It is a team effort to want to win a ring. They have to be hungry. Everyone can talk the talk about wanting to win a ring but they have to have that fire to do so.
they don't need to be at a 'high level' If we get a Back up Center that is say . . . 20th in the league [out of potential 62] . . .I think that would be more than good . . . I am ok with our playmakers developing and maturing [Lowry and Brooks] Rocket River
the backup center has to be able to spell yao for 13-15 minutes a game. but the bigger need has to be getting a legit playmaking wing. watching artest dribble was like watching my grandma trying to drive -> disastrous.
finding a backup that can bring what yao brings to the table is impossible...especially with $ situation. even if they find someone who can bang for 15 minutes it would make yao's job easier don't you agree?
