Expand your thoughts a bit, move Yao to the high post more often, or further out on the wing, drawing the defense with him and opening up vast cavernous seems in the defense.

It is why Von was so effective......same type of thing for Corey.

It is just my opinion, but I think Maggette would do great here.

DaDa deserves the obligatory flagarant 2 and 1 day ejection from GARM for constantly throwing around Maggette's name and hijacking threads.

Why don't you just paste that into your signature, DD.

DD, there's a reason maggette has had very good stats for a starter and yet he's not clamored all over around the L. there's ZERO buzz around corey.

I don't want Corey to be a Tmac, I want him to fit into a hard working team and score the ball by taking advantage of what Yao creates.

It is the same role that the Spurs wanted him for last year.

Sometimes players are better suited to be 2nd or 3rd in the pecking order than 1st.

Maggette is like that, I believe he would thrive as the number 2 or 3 option here.

    QFT.

It doesn't have to be McGrady but we need a playmaking wing.

Think about playoff basketball a bit. What happens when teams decide to take away the drive from Maggette. What then? What's he going to do?

he doesn't pass. He doesn't have a jumper. What do you have?

It's one thing to drive down the lane when you are on a laughing stock team and the opposition doesn't have to worry about you to win....because your D sucks too.

It's another thing when you have to play against elite teams and they actually try to take away your strength.

One-dimensional players is not what this team needs.

That would be my first choice, but I am not sure there are any available...I am trying to look at players that can be had.....

This thread has gotten way out of hand.

Is this what we have to deal with in in the off season?

Morey and Les have not partaken in trading or shipping Tmac so there is obviously something they know and believe in him.

This Magette argument should of been dead when Lou brought the PER list and barried with SamCassel post which I do not feel like looking for in the this thread full of pointless arguments.

Actually, around the trade deadline (before he chose to have surgery), McGrady's name was involved in a few possible trades.

    Proposed by other teams...

Detroit proposed the Billups trade last summer and the Nets proposed the VC trade which were both rejected.

There wouldn't be talks of trades unless the teams were willing to trade the players in question. Also, it's curious that the Nets trade talks died on the same day that McGrady publicly chose to have surgery.

    Don't be naive.

Not being naive just stating facts.

McGrady hasn´t been traded for a reason. The reason? I have no idea.

Plus, never said I didn´t want him traded. Your assuming because of my username.

I am a McGrady fan, but I am a Rockets fan before it.

    Microfracture surgery, maybe?

I'm not assuming anything. I'm just pointing out the flaws in your logic. You're basically saying that since he's still on the team, management must not want to trade him.

McGrady hasn't been traded because his basketball value currently ranks somewhere just above pocket lint. At this point in time given his numerous injuries, poor health and repeated failings on the court, his expiring contract is more valuable than McGrady the basketball player. He's just another in a long line of overpaid disappointments. It is not my intention to sound nasty here but it is what it is. The fact that they advanced deeper into the playoffs than ever before WITHOUT him speaks volumes. It's well past time to declare the Yao-TMac experiment DOA.

there's a reason he didn't want to sign with the spurs. he wants "his stats" and "his playing time".

#2 option. you're ridiculous with that. AT BEST, he's a 3rd option if that.

Not sure it speaks volumes, since they had the best role players they have had since Tracy has been here. I think you can point to the fact that this is the first year they actually have a better record without him on the court than with him on the court, Yao or no Yao.

I am not opposed to calling the Yao-TMac experiment DOA, considering that Tracy's surgery may be career ending, and his expiring contract may benefit the team long into the future (assuming the right deal), but to put the enitre blame on him is unreasonable (edited - which is what most of this board does these days).

What about Hedo Turkoglu? It looks like the Magic might give up Hedo to sign Gortat.
