Don't you think Morey would want to wait and see how he comes to training camp and plays at the beginning of the season before making any decision? If teams are desperate for cap relief, they will only become more desperate as time passes. Morey's bargaining leverage to get more in return increases as the clock runs out on teams. That's what I think.
What i do know and just now realizing is that Its funny how McGrady passed it to Novak instead of Alston who was also open in the corner. I always got so caught up in that game winning shot i just now seen it.
Obviously Novak had the pressure. Although McGrady did draw the defenders, the pass itself wasn't particularly good. It was nowhere near Novak's shooting pocket.
I think you're looking at career numbers for Tracy's points/shot. Last year, he ranked 250th out of 329 players who played at least 500 minutes, which just puts him in the bottom quartile. When you add in trips to the free throw line (a more accurate measure of scoring efficiency), he falls to 277th out of 329 players. I'm not sure how much the bail out shots hurts him here. He has been known to take a number of questionable shots early in the shot clock. 82games shows that only 11% of his shot attempts this year came with 21 seconds or more elapsed from the shot clock, and he actually shot worse in the 16-20 range. There's something to the notion that he's expected to take tougher shots in our offense, but I think a lot of it is his own doing as well.
Tinman what I am tired of is the huge letdown of one or both of the rockets star franchise players shutting down the season or missing big parts of the season due to injury. When healthy and on paper the rockets look awesome, but in reality its to much of gamble to keep both of them. Tracy has the expiring contract, they don't know for sure when he'll play again and the current team played 13 games in the postseason without Tracy. Its an easy descision for me in who I trade and Im a big T-Mac fan, but a rocket fan 1st. Im sure this isn't rocket science to Morey.
Well we have 2 games left ( hopefully ) to see which direction this team is headed. Once that is over there are going to be lots of rumors regarding McGrady and others who have expiring contracts. As for teams being desperate we wont see crazy offers until the draft or probably in February.
I honestly don't believe the Rockets have any intention of McGrady suiting up for them again. I think the playoffs solidified that feeling. This team forged a winning identity without McGrady. I don't see any benefit in bringing a guy back who would destroy that chemistry (even if it is unintentional on McGrady's part). The other side of that is that I think the Rockets want to have all their horses at the beginning of the season. Sure, they may hold onto McGrady in hopes of getting a better deal in February but I don't think they will. I think the organization knows that if they can add 2-3 players from the start they have a real shot at the best record in the West as well as the benefit of having a whole season to gel. It is in their best interest to make a move now rather than later and I think with the current financial climate of many teams they can get a very good package in return for McGrady before training camp.
We are all tired of the injuries. All of us. To T-mac, to Yao, to everyone throughout the last 4 years. I am not against trading T-mac. I am against trading him quickly for chicken cutlets.
This is just wrong, playing the waiting game is not smart asset management, Tmac's expiring contract loses ALL value after the trading deadline.... At that point you are PRAYING he makes it back....I do not want this team in the same position again where we are hoping instead of cheering on the team. We have 2 injury prone players, let's get rid of one.... DD
The irony was you use to always back me up when i was NewYorker. Oh well. By the way, my umbrella is made out of the same stuff they make the space shuttle out of.
Exactly what I have been saying. I will take lessor players that are guaranteed to play over the same merry go round that is TMac and his in and out itis... BTW - I am very happy Tmac is working out with Grover, he should have been doing this for years....I hate how players get motivated at contract time.....I want players that are motivated by winning.... DD
I know its not right to play the waiting game but what can you do about it. They have been playing the waiting game basically for 5 years. Why would they all of a sudden just say forget about it and try to get rid of him. That right there would not be smart for management. We have 2 injury prone players true. Lets get rid of one?? not good. Some people on here want one gone but what they fail to realize is that both might be gone. Yao has the option of opting out of his contract. Basically the Rockets have major problem on their hands with both of the teams leaders
Agree and good post, start the season without any doughts in who's going to be there. Build your chemistry from the beginning and hopefully Adelmans offense will finally kick in after his 3rd year as coach.
Wait what? You think after 5 years they should keep waiting? Tmac's contract is finally more valuable, now is the time to STOP doing the same thing over and over and make a move. The Tmac and Yao era is over, it didn't work, pick one (Yao) and move on and try something else. The definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over and expect different results. And for the fun of it... Tmac's Points per shot for his career is 1.201 Magettes Points per shot for his career is 1.46 That is a pretty big difference.....in efficiency.... DD
i have Lou on ignore, but his stupid posts are still readable when people reply and quote him. he is worse than stephen A. smith, cuz I can't even mute him LOL
