Go back and read my original post. I am talking about pure god given talent. Athletic ability, shooting, court vision, ball handling ect. I am not talking about what happens on the court or heart ect. or if his talent equals wins. T-Mac is one of the most gifted basketball players I have ever seen. He's more gifted than the superstar basketball player thats playing in the finals that you point out, that does not mean he's a better basketball player than Kobe or a better winner or mentally tougher. Kobe is hands down is a better overall player than T-Mac, Kobe works hard on his game in the offseason, Kobe's focused, Kobe utilizes his skill set on the court, Kobe never takes games off, Kobe's a mentally tough SOB ect. I have personally played with guys that are more talented than some NBA player, but those guys don't have the discipline or motivation to do anything with it.

The funny thing is, because of the way you formatted your post, the "INSERT THE TMAC EXCUSE" section isn't visible, and I thought you were serious.

Corey Maggette strikes me as the SF version of Shareef Abdur Rahim. He looks good in the stat sheet but it doesn't seem to add up to winning basketball.

How does that not relate to basketball? You don't think all those deaths had any effect on T-Mac's basketball career? We're talking about a guy that everybody says is mentally weak and has a weak heart. Just about a weak everything. But we're suppose to believe that all those deaths have no effect on him? Riiiight. I'm not saying thats the reason his career has gone the way it has but I'm sure all those deaths took a toll on him mentally.

I entertain the trade of mcgrady but good grief please not for a guy like corey magette. I truly hope we aren't discussing picking up this guy. Get Jamal Crawford but not Magette.

You don't boo them you cheer for them... so when you want that particular person gone what is that?? isn't that like booing?? You want McGrady gone you want Artest gone. I don't know who else you want gone but that to me is kind of like booing sir.

YOu don' know what a poison pill contract is - you were wrong about that, how about admitting dada? Let's see if you can admit when you are wrong.

And Maggette? My god what on earth are you thinking???

If you are going to advocate trading t-mac, you have to understand that the whole point of a poison pill contract is that so no other team will want the guy or can match an offer - AND you have to trade him for a triple threat player that is HEALTHY!

    C'mon Dada - be consistent.

LOL - not at all true, I like the potential of some of those players, doesn't mean I would start them.

Let's see....a DD run down for giggles on the above players.

Wafer - I think he is a potential starter in the league if he commits to playing D, love his offensive pressure on opposing defenses.

V-Span - Think the team desperatly needs an attack the basket player, and felt he might have developed into the guy at the PG position, but he weenied out and went home.

Novak - Yeah, I get lumped in with the Novak lovers but never thought that much of him other than a good Bullard type of player.

Boki - became exactly what I thought a good 3pt shooter who can slash to the rim...I hope the Rockets go get him this offseason as a complimentary player.

    Langhi - Oops...missed that one completely I did... :)

Maggette - Fits in on this team better than many people realize....and is a very efficient offensive player....

    My team would win 60+ every year....maybe 70+....ROFLMAO !!

It doesn't relate to basketball. Has tmac changed anything on the court or in his contract because his pals died? Is tmac the only player who has tragedies outside the court? No.
Michael ray richardson's addiction to cocaine affected his game.

he didn't show up to a game cause they found him across the street doing drugs.

Tmac's outside tragedies has not affected him cause he has a choice to play.

Magic could not play cause he had to tend to his HIV treatment.

Has Tmac retired cause his friends died? Magic had to retire cause he got HIV.

See the difference? Tmac has a choice.

Taking on Reed and Cook and Butler's contracts were the poison pills to get other players.....

Maybe not a HUGE posion pill but they still qualify....

A poison pill contract is taking on a contract of a player you don't want to get a player you do want....

Excellent post. Don't forget since no one on that team has any handles (aka Vujacic putting full court pressure on Von Wafer) this team would be the first NBA team to have the opponent run a high school style zone press successfully against them and score 100 points in a half.

Some folks act as if McGrady kicked their moms to the curb. I don't understand the hate. The last time we saw him semihealthy against Utah in the playoff he was pretty dominant and kept us from getting swept. He had a triple double THIS season.

Maybe he won't ever be healthy again, but until we know, I'm hoping for the best. I doubt he's going to be traded, since if he's not healthy, other teams won't want him, and if he is then we won't want to give him up.

I know DDQ is on Morey's speed dial for advice and all, such as how to create some packages for white guys who can't play, but I think he's out of the loop on this one.

Nope, you should look it up and come back. Poison Pill refers to the contract itself.
