But lets say TMAC improves greatly next season, and our team shows great chemistry and we have one of the best records in the league at the trade deadline. Do you still want to trade him?

Well there ya go then...you haven't seen it....must not have ever happened.....except when it does.

Jackie Butler, and this year Brian Cook......

I trust DM to make the right decision, he will pick up efficient players.....

Funny how you toss out foolish and profess your love for an inefficient player when both Maggette and Biedrens are highly efficient players....

    But, whatever....

What about the 8 deaths of close family and friends he had to endure during his first 9 years in the NBA? Is that not enough for you to feel sorry for him? I'm fortunate enough to only have had 1 close family or friend die. Can't imagine what its like to lose one ever year or so. At the end of the day, its just a basketball game. You can't replace lost ones.

This is what I was getting at. It is very easy to make this statement NOW but is it so easy if we're one of the top few teams with McGrady playing well...I don't think so. Even if Morey was ready to make the trade this might be the type of situation where Les puts a hold on things.

I still think a trade is the most likely and logical thing to do I just hope we choose wisely what player to bring in. I hope we don't bring in a guy like Ben Gordon or Corey Maggette who has no ability to create for others. I'd rather just play Wafer more minutes he gets the same thing accomplished. I'd rather see us bring in a guy like Salmons or Delonte West who aren't as good of scorers but are guards who can help the overall offense not just their own. People have to understand it's the team's efficiency that matters not a single player's shooting percentages.

LOL - you have been here one month and you say that?

My opinion is just based upon a lot more knowledge than most.

    What he said.

(And I still love you, DD -- even if I disagree with you on a million things).

I've been here 12 years, can I say that? ;)

If DD was the GM, we'd be starting Von Wafer, V-Span, Novak, and Boki Nachbar along with Yao, and Dan Langhi would be our 6th man. And we'd win about 15 games next season.

Which is about how many games Corey Maggette's teams win on an annual basis. He's played 10 seasons and been to the playoffs once.

Those aren't poison pill contracts. Do you know what a poison pill even is???

Brian Cook will be traded before the deadline as an expiring contract. If not, he's only 3.5 million - hardly a big deal.

Corey Maggette's numbers are deceptive. He doesn't make a team better. His whole game is just driving to the basket. He's not a great jump shooter, a terrible 3-pt shooter. He doesn't get many assists. He's everything you claim to hate in T-mac except less talented. He can't shoot, he gets injured, and he doesn't involve his team-mate.

He gets his efficiency on layups while playing for really awful teams his whole career. He's a perennial loser. You want this guy? Oh god. This is why I question your basketball knowledge.

I think you mean poisonous contracts which hamper or hurt the team longer term, not "Poison pill" which is about contracts with guarantees that make it impossible for another team to match. Morey isn't going to put himself in those positions. He hasn't thus far.

And he's not going to commit 45 million to a guy who is injury prone like a Maggette. Thank god.

All this hate for Mcgrady, yet some are asking for Maggette? While Maggette has been somewhat effecient, can someone tell me if he's ever played a full season? Heres a neat-o-stat for you Maggette has averaged 64 games a season in his 10 year career while Mcgrady has averaged about 65 in his 12 years.

I'm all for trading for Tracy but not for someone else that has an injury history that compares with his. I'm tired of being Crutch City, we need Clutch City back in a hurry.

I gave you examples of basketball related adversity. I suggest you compare apples to apples not oranges.

Michael Finley took that so-called "pay cut" to join the Spurs AFTER receiving a $55 million contract buyout from Mark Cuban so that he could be released from his Dallas Mavericks' contract.

OK, so let's assume that you are correct here. My response would be: "So what?". TMac can have all the basketball talent in the world but what's more important is the ability to utilize all that talent on the court. That's what counts more because that's what delivers results and that ain't TMac not by a long shot. And if you want a recent example of what I'm referring to, go back and look at Game 1 of the NBA Finals to see exactly what a "superstar" basketball player utilizing his "basketball talent" really looks like.

Agreed and all talent really boils down to is potential. Potential to be great in some cases. A player's ceiling is basically tied to their talent (potential!!) level. Plenty of players never realize their full potential because they skate by on talent alone. Some may be good enough or great enough to do this, but McGrady is no longer one of these people due to his health. He may have to tweak his game to an extent or work much harder than he is used to doing in the past to excel at a high level.

You mean the same guy that was suppose to beat those Celtics last year? The same guy who was on the team where just about everyone picked the them to win it all? The same guy on the team that blew huge leads and didn't show up for the elimation game against Boston? Is it the same guy that struggled to beat a depleated Rockets team? The same guy that has thrown cheap elbows from time to time? You mean the guy that threw teammates under the bus on amateur youtube videos? The same guy that demanded a trade, then took it back and then demanded a trade again? The same exact guy that QUIT on his team in the 2nd half of a Game 7? Is it the guy that told Shaq how his ass taste?

Oh, that guy. Well then, I completely agree.

Can you reference this post with some sort of mention of Vernon Maxwell please? I don't feel like we get that enough from you.
