http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nba/news/story?id=4909238 So Haywood is included...close but no cigar
Can someone explain to me why the Wiz would rather have 2 players whose combined expirings aren't anywhere close to McGrady's?
Let's see if I can explain this. Taking on MORE salary = BAD Taking on LESS salary = GOOD Tracy McGrady's salary = $22.8M Josh Howard's and Drew Gooden's combined salaries = $15.3M And for the millionth freakin' time . . . THE AMOUNT OF EXPIRING CONTRACTS COMING OFF A TEAM'S BOOKS IS NOT THE SAME THING AS THE AMOUNT OF CAP ROOM THAT TEAM WILL HAVE.
No here is the latest loloolol... WojYahooNBA Wiz and Mavs still talking about way to expand deal to include Brendan Haywood, but source says core -- Butler for Howard -- is solid. This is nuts
Wojo: The Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks are nearing completion on a trade that will exchange Caron Butler(notes) and Josh Howard(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The teams were negotiating whether to expand the trade to include Wizards center Brendan Haywood, but one source with knowledge of the talks said he doesn’t expect the core of the deal – Butler and Howard – to unravel. Wizards guard DeShawn Stevenson is expected to be moved to Dallas in either deal involving Butler. The Mavericks would send Quinton Ross(notes) or Tim Thomas(notes) and possibly Drew Gooden if the trade also includes Haywood http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_y...aw-wizardsmavstrade021210&prov=yhoo&type=lgns
Doesn't matter, Rockets wouldn't give up Battier or Scola and the deal wouldn't go down. Any ways it would definitely take Lowry, Brooks, or Landry to get Amare. We know the Rockets are terrified of making the big deal. That is one thing we have seen through this era. I'm starting to feel like we will never sniff the Conference Championships in a looong time now.
if the deal is as reported, Washington will have shipped out 19.6MM Washington will take on $17.5MM with Howard, Gooden, Singleton, and Ross then Washington is taking on $19.6MM. They save 2.1MM this year. In contrast, if they take on Tmac's 22.8MM, they would certainly want some "cheap young talent" like say Buddinger, which costs another million or so. Washington would increase their payroll by $4MM this year, without getting top tier young talent. The difference between going with dallas as opposed to Houston? a net $6.1MM difference. this was a straight salary dump.
