That's a man who knew his competition and the reason he had sunken eyes all last season. Now you know how he was able to get a team with limited abilities to way over achieve.
I'd love to see Walton/Barkley with JVG and Marv Albert/Kevin Harlan/Bob Costas. That would be a heck of a comedy show, but great analysis at the same time.
i'm a big fan of JVG this year in particular. He seems more comfortable, he's more laid back.. and I love the shots he takes. He'll take direct hits at players or refs based on real knowledge (or say something that we're all thinking that most announcers are too scared to say because they don't want to be *too* offensive). JVG just states it like it's his opinion, but he makes it sound like his opinion is an educated one (which it is). Man, I wish I could remember one of the specific moments when he was ripping into someone on one of the teams last week. Was it Odom? Kobe? I can't remember at all.. I did like how he was unhappy with Violet Palmer and then later said "well she did cost me a game in (insert year) against (insert team)" Pretty hilarious..
Man we need to dig up a video of that -- funny. I noticed the video of the JVG-Kobe free throw thing posted with a bunch of highlights, but here it is isolated. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zanS2bJnm5w"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zanS2bJnm5w" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
