no Dave....we used the Rice TE in the Tmac trade...but we did get a smaller TE(around 5.4M) back that is good until next June or July..

I want Daniels and Radmanovic. They both go away this summer, Sonics need to trade at the deadline. We resign them for what the prove they can do with Yao and Tmac.

Daniels is our point guard. Sura can back up 1 and 2. Tmac is 2, Radman is 3. That's pretty good - good size, some shooting, some skills.

We can do that for the TE. In a seperate deal we give Seattle Taylor or Howard for something they want to dump, like Jerome James or Vitaly Potepenko. I'd think they'd prefer Howard with his small contract, but you never know. They can have JJ and Lue and Gaines of course, too. JJ is not a fit with Tmac. Send his "veteran leadership" there.

We try to get a rebounder for the power forward spot later. We could stick Jerome James there in a pinch, to do the Cato thing. We still let Padgett and the leftover Howard/Taylor do the soft score work.

A little move like that would really spread the defense and help Yao and Tmac get room to operate.

Good call, i just left the trade as Orl POV cause we ended up with a TE anyway.

 

I think Daniel's contract ends after the 2005-2006 season, which is after next and not this year.

there are a few problems with dealing with the sonics now.

1. they are winning and prob don't want to change anything.

2. thier bad contracts that might help us get the deal done (potapenko, james) are both ending this summer. there is no way they would want to trade and ending contract for JH or mo. esp. since they are very happy with fortson and collison.

3. even if they were losing, AD is a big piece for them since ray allen may not re-sign.

i say we just go after radman if they are not willing to deal both AD and vlad.

realistically i would love to see:

jj, lue, gaines

for

radman, AD, cleaves

 

I dont see coachs pet getting traded. JJ, Yao, and TMac are 3 untradables on this team.

Why people here like Radmon? He is not bad. But he is very inconsistent and he is bad for team chemistry. He got kicked out the Serbia national team before.

 

I was thinking of posting something on AD just a few days ago but decided to wait for more games to go under the bridge. I really do think CD wants him bad and he is doing well. He will opt out after this year not only because Houston is chasing him bad. I could see us giving him a sizable portion of a mid level exception if not all.

Don't worry about Seattle doing so well now, they will come back down to earth (sucky) and will deal him for something rather than nothing. If we could get Rad man as well that would be cool.

 

agree that radman will be hard to get. however, they are happy with both 4's (fortson, collison) so i don't think they would want another one, unless cd was the gm .

the reason i proposed a trade of mostly guards is because allen still won't re-sign and they are getting worried that they will lose him. jj would be insurance. in the event that seattle trades allen it won't be for another 2, because they won't get near equal value back. it will be more like a deal for shareef, or kidd, maybe curry and davis, etc....
