I haven't bought a basketball game since NBA 2k2, which was awesome. the reason is because basketball games are always too easy, u just give the ball to the best player, drive it inside and dunk every time for 20-30 minutes until its over. and the computer can never ever beat u, if i play a season the worst i would do is probably 80-2 which is boring. also, when they did try to make the game more hcallening, the only difference is that it made u miss more shots, but there was no strategy involved. so all you 2k9 fans, does this game actually require you to run plays and is it a challenge for a decent gamer when playing against the computer on the hardest difficulty level? live has always been an arcadey joke.
I'm sure a GM of a professional sports team knows everything there is to know about video games and knows which one is better.
Using a video game as a scouting tool is a joke. He's basically saying EA has better scouts than the Rockets. He isn't serious.
Ok, so he uses Synergy sports for game planning and NBA Live just for visuals. Where does 2K getting owned tie into this? Of course, the typical troll response turns another thread into a 2K vs Live fight fest. And people wonder why folks say NBA Live "fanboys" are the worst.
Good luck driving it inside and dunking every time or going 80-2 with the game on Hall of Fame difficulty... To answer you question more directly, a "decent gamer" will often get his lunch money taken from him on the hardest difficulty.
Synergy is used by almost all the teams in the NBA. They are now expanding to allow colleges to use their data. I am sure this connection with EA Sports is more of a new revenue stream than anything else.
