I haven't been paying attention, but looking at the Raptors' roster there are an awful lot of former Rockets there... Just a bit funny, I guess. Almost like a graveyard for our trade fodder.
I call this the Mark Gasol Effect - players become so universally known as underrated that they become overrated. Examples are Steph Curry, Roy Hibbert, and now Kyle Lowry.
WARP is a horrible stat. It just figures that ESPN would do player rankings based on it. Plus he plays in the Leastern Conference. It must be nice to play dLeague teams 50% of the time.
The stuff people are saying to discredit Lowry. Obviously he’s not the 4th best PG in the league, but he’s always been a baller and I feel his impact gets underrated compared to some of these PG’s who suck defensively/don’t have the all-around game Lowry does. This is the real Lowry that Toronto gave up a lottery pick for, now that he’s healthy and free from Rudy Gay.
I say we bring lowry back and let him play out his contract...I mean seriously will he self destruct or sabotage himself in a very important year. I doubt that seriously. You play the hand and make a strong push for the championship this year with a top 5 pg and sort the bs out later. This would be a win now move that could lead to a deep push in the playoffs. This would be a great move for the rockets f@c the feelings involved.
Lowry has always played hard during his career, so don't try and play down his effort just because he's on a contract year.
So next year when he goes back to being a complementary player, will you admit that his spike in play was due to money
Thanks to that move we got Harden and will be a perennial 50+ win team for the next several years. So yeah...Great move by the Rockets.
lol Steph Curry, is a scoring machine who passes as well. Roy has an inside game and is a defensive monster. Pretty sure not overrated.
