well if we have the chance... we ought to draft rudy gay. his talent and atheleticism is needed on this team. he would help out tmac by light years. i like lamarcus...but i dont think he is the answer for this team. he is more finesse than a banger. and a banger is what we need at the pf spot. we are slow and short at the guard and sf spots. gay would add some serious depth and answer some of our pressing needs.
You guys who don't want Reddick are nuts, the guy is scoring 28ppg in college on the top team in the land, he is far from a wanna be. He is a legitimate player, and will be Hinrich like in the NBA. I would be VERY happy to have JJ stroking the 3 ball off of a Tmac or Yao pass, he is a major upgrade to any of the guards we have on the team now. MAJOR upgrade. DD
This is where I don't follow basketball (College). So I don't know SQWAT about the draft. (depth etc.) I only follow Football at the college level .
Slipped? He is actually moving up. Before this season everybody had JJ at low first-round because he is undersized and hadn't shown the ability to create his own shot, but the general opinion has changed. Whether he can drive to the basket in NBA is still a question, but his performance has elevated his draft status to be even considered for a lottery pick. Bulls show up in the top 3 with a good frequency because they have Knicks' No. 1 pick.
I actually think there are a few players who can help us in the early teens. Lots of good, solid four-year seniors at the 2 who will be available around there -- JJ, Brandon Roy, Mardy Collins, Randy Foye -- to name a few.
Adam Morrison (Gonzaga), LaMarcus Aldridge (Texas), Rudy Gay (UConn) and JJ Reddick (Duke) are the main names going around right now as the top players available with Tyrus Thomas (LSU) making his way up the charts. Most players tend to make a name for themselves around tourney time.
Reddick looks like Nachbar part 2. Every time I see highlights of him, he's jacking up threes from 25 feet out. Skinny white guys that can't do anything but shoot aren't worth lottery picks...
related to the off season thread I would rather gamble on a long 3 with the quickness to guard opposing 2's. J
i played it 200 times: on my 113th try...we got the 2nd overall pick and selected Tyrus Thomas. on my 130th try...we got the 1st overall pick and took LaMarcus Alderidge.
i got the 2nd pick on my 4th try and the 1st pick on my 11th and then stopped. if we don't move up to the top 3, i kinda hope we trade for sheldon williams. he seems to enjoy playing physical, and actually has some talent around the hoop. not that tall but he is a good shotblocker so maybe he's like another brand with super long arms (w/o being as good overall). he seems like the kind of pf we need.
I've probably tried 100 times and always get either 12th or 13th--McRoberts,Tiago Splitter or Shelden Williams. Is this Splitter guy any good?
what spot were we in when we got yao? wasnt it from the 5th, i think there is a good chance we could drop that far...maybe.
