If we take a look at all the teams that have the switch everything defensive approach, it leaves Hou, GS, and boston I believe. Cleveland does it to a degree but doesn't have the personnel to do it at a high level, so thats why they ranked amongst the worst defensive teams. trying to do something they're not good at.

Thus it always leaves the door open for GS to improve so long as GS has there core. Boston already has their pieces in place.

Yes I get it. I've read enough of your post to know your position is: You are convinced this is easy, and Morey is in complete control, and Cleveland is foolish for not taking what Morey wants to give up, and no other team can actually pull off an opt-in.

It's OK to convince yourself that we are in a position of power. I'm not arguing with your irrational over-exuberance. I meant only to use your 2FRPs packaged with Ryan comment as an opportunity to illustrate for the BBS possible complixities from just thinking we only have to address the 3rd team, and Lebron will impose his will on CLE for us.

But come on...when ppl want to save money, they want to save it Now, not in the future. Besides, if they accomplish maximum savings now, that means they can ask for even more for Love, later. Like, "OK we'll eat some of your salary if you give us another pick." Or by trading with a team with most favorable pick, but one who has to match salaries within 25%.

Deferring Cleveland demands onto someone else in the future is not a negotiating tactic. CLE would not be foolish for letting Lebron walk, or look for another Opt-in trade to PHI, BOS, LAL, if we offer them nothing that they want.

The LeBron saga has gone quite the opposite from the Melo saga in terms of reporting.

The Melo saga was largely telegraphed moves

This has been much more subtle hints.

I think part of that is Woj/ESPN don’t have many sources in the Rockets and they run a pretty tight lipped operation.

Honestly, there isn't really anything to report from the Rockets side. They have to know if LeBron will play ball. LeBron probably wont know at the earliest until the week of the 25th.

But this is where you start. You don't enter into any deal already offering your most prized assets like most here on clutch fans would do .

You go for the best possible scenario first which is retaining the current roster as much as possible and adding LeBron.

After that you see what needs to be thrown in to sweeten the deal.

Maybe he is foolish enough to take nothing now just so that he can save the most possible money now instead of a little bit later in the off-season, I can't speak to that, but I just think it's irrational to assume that he's that foolish.

This is a pretty realistic trade I saw on reddit. The cavs get under the luxury tax line and get a 1st rounder and they might get another one by trading EG. Bulls get a 1st rounder and they get closer to the salary cap floor. The rockets get Lebron.

This seems like a deal that can happen. Our starting line up would be LBJ,CP3,Harden Capella, Tucker. We can get some ring chasers to fill out our bench.

That's an option I never considered prior to this post but it makes a lot of sense.

They're gonna be a lottery team there's no sense in not trading Love now as his value will never be greater and you save almost $10m the next two years in the process.

I would be amazed if a trade like this was pulled off. Would expect us giving up a lot more in picks

Trust me my friend, next year alot of teams will look to construct the team that switches everything people saw the results. Just like more teams shots 3s now. We was the few ahead of the pack. Secrets out now. U can actually beat the warriors that way. So it's would behoove you as a team to get players like that

Doubtful. The majority of the league have yet to even adapt to pace and space. So the same defensive philosophy won't catch up either. Atleast not that quickly. You don't copy something you don't even have the personnel for

This is just what he does. He takes a position, says no other position could possibly be right and you are all stupid if you think otherwise but it’s ok because he doesn’t expect more from this place

Idk man I would think gms are smarter then me. N that's the only way to win now. Bucks behind the times that's why they fired kid. Memphis etc. Pop was a stubborn guy I always thought..old school. But it even dawned on him this is a new era. Guys are more versatile 7ft guy shooting threes 6 8 guys playing point guard. N just look at the freaks u got coming out the draft. Mo bamba with his wing span. Man I just love the nba. It's always something new coming the new year. So much talent coming n here. I truly believe this is the nba 2nd golden age. We just gotta be the warriors man.

Close, I take a well thought out logical position and reject all ill conceived, illogical arguments against it.

If someone has a solid argument against it, then we'll discuss it as much as it can be discussed. If someone comes with nonsense, then I generally reject it and explain to them why I reject it which usually leads to them getting upset.

You would think so but not everyone in the league is building their team to beat the warriors. There's still only a select few
