I see what you're getting at, just that you might be too stingy with the age you mentioned. It'll be interesting with Lebron cuz he's a bit heavier than the usual swingman, though its muscle not fat. A couple lazy offseasons in his 30's and he could be in range of 300 lbs If Lebron develops a respectable outside shot like Magic did, he'll stay very effective.
Well deserved.. it was a one man race really.. he ran away with it back in December. Congrats Bron Bron.
He is like Magic on roid. He's like Magic with Jordan's athleticism. If he can shoot a little better, and get a few more rings, he can surpass Jordan as the GOAT.
He is the best. he is gonna get better. he is MJ and Magic. MJ has Pippen, Magic has Jabber. Lebron has...Mo Williams. Amazing what he achieves with what he has in the team.
Great to see them pick the right winner. He deserves it - phenomenal player, phenomenal year. I didn't think he could elevate the Cavs roster to the heights he has. Evan
Let's hold off on mentioning Lebron in the same sentence as Magic. I know the media likes to compare them for hype reasons but if you really think Lebron passes or sees the court anywhere near as well as Magic did you're probably still in high school or live in Cleveland. Lebron = Could go down as the best all-around player ever. Magic = Top 5 player of all time, best PG of all time, best "fast break" leader of all time. 5 Rings.
Lebron deserves it though I am somewhat shocked at how much he blew the competition away in the votes. I had thought there would be more people hanging off of Kobe just because.
ROFL Lebron just got a really tough question "if and when you win a championship this year, will you consider your mission be done and leave us (cleveland)?" danggggg
I hate when people say LeBron is conceited and people hate him for his on the court acts. LeBron is humble and really mature and when he's doing those things on the court with his teammates their just having fun. When asked if he was a GM who would he choose Jordan or himself he answered Jordan.
Except for the fact that even without his great athleticism he is still a very good playmaker. And I don't see him losing that much athleticism by the age of 27.
I have argued about this on another MB. I don't think they would make the playoffs if you take LeBron off that team. That team is build strictly around his talents. Without Lebron who would guard the perimeter? They would have Mo Williams and Delonte West in the backcourt. One of them at the SG position would be undersized. The team is filled with role players, I know people say Mo Williams but you can't do much with him as the main guy. He's the perfect 3rd option to me, but he is the 2nd option with Lebron there. That team would struggle on offense a whole lot. Not to mention that the respect factor would not be there without Lebron. The crowd would not be there without Lebron. The energy from all of those role players would not be there without Lebron because he gives them hope of a Championship. I could be wrong but that is my opinion.
This is what caught my eye Interesting, and debatable I guess. If the MVP voting this year was of the "the player whose time relies on the most to be worth a damn" variety then I concur with Wade finishing ahead of Kobe as far as first place votes. If it was of the "best player on the best team" variety then Kobe should have received more voting. Either way, I think this is a statement as to how impressed the voters were with Wade's regular season numbers. He clearly had the best numbers of any one player in the league, although Lebron absolutely had the best combination of individual numbers and team accomplishments and therefore deserved to be the runaway MVP.
Congrats to Lebron, it was about damn time. Surprised Wade finished 3rd though... thought he might've finished 2nd. On the side, I dunno if it's just me, but did anyone find the display for Lebron's MVP crowning on the NBA page a bit funny? "Lebron, Kia Most Valuable Player". Goodness gracious...
He did! The "total votes" thing is absolutely meaningless and I am not sure why they even bother have anyone vote for anything but first-place votes (that is the guy who gets the MVP anyways, isn't it?!) Wade got seven 1st place votes, Kobe got just two. In essence, he did finish second for MVP honors.
He's no Magic, but I think he sees the floor and passes A LOT better than some people give him credit for. You can tell he understands the game like the back of his hand and sees the play form 2-3 seconds before it actually happens, much like Magic. Unlike Magic though, Lebron looks to create for himself just as much as he does for his teammates. I think he could average 10 assists per game if he wasn't counted on to score 30 points every night.
did anyone catch the gem from ben wallace played in the TNT story on Lebron's MVP? thanks to him, i have a new signature. gee ben, ya think?
