The physique of Karl Malone? Without the athleticism to dominate on the perimeter, I could imagine Lebron moving to the power forward position and continuing to be an outstanding player for years.

Lebron is definitely using athleticism explosion to his advantage and needs more refinement in his game later. Though Charles Barkley was way fat and way undersized at his position past 30 and somehow remained effective. Dominique Wilkins was still pouring in 25 points a game at age 34. Dr J was still mostly Dr J at age 33.

Right. But like the "leading" Kobe did early in his career?

Like the "leading" Shaq did at Miami?

Like the "leading" Dr J did winning a title with MVP of the league Moses Malone on the team?

So winning rings as a 2nd team All NBA selection doesnt amount to much. I'll just say I must have missed the context altogether....

When did this "Wait until Lebron loses his athleticism!" meme get so widespread? He's only 25-years old for God's sake.

LOL, was that what happened in 2008 Finals? Cause the last time I checked, Vujacic was crying like a baby and Kobe was watching impotently on the bench while his team tried to come back from a 40 points deficit.

They won it in 2009 because:
1)The young Magics choked in the finals.
2)The whole Cav team choked except Lebron against the Magics, or they would've made it to the finals and whooped Kobe's ass
3)2 games went their way in the Finals due to poor reffing
4)David Stern wants to rejuvenate the declining superstar\
5)Odom, Ariza, Fisher all stepped up big time

Just ask yourself, do you really think a team that the Rockets took to game 7 without Yao or Tracy deserves the ring?

With that being said, Kobe is still one hell of a basketball player. However, his greatness means nothing when it comes to team basketball. How many times has Fisher hit a big shot in the playoffs to save Kobe's ass? I doubt Kobe will still have so many rings if you take Fisher out of the picture.

You know people are trying very hard to criticize LBJ when they have to resort to "OH YEAH WELL LET'S SEE HOW GOOD HE IS IN 5 YEARS!!!"

If lebron dosent win it this year he cannot be compared to michael jordan! lebron has been handed talent on a silver platter the cavs have bent backwards for him for them to come up short. I dont care if lebron ends up having better numbers in every stat there is, michael jordan acomplished more with less.

Lebron is easily the best player in the NBA.

i know for a fact that Lebron won't win 6 titles. The NBA wouldn't let it happen. The Jordan Bulls were pumped up more and more to be the bad guy. Just like the Spurs. They couldnt win 6 titles because everyone in world would have quit watching basketball. Everyone can disagree with me and call me a conspriacy theorist, but if you think all sports are fair and aren't altered in any way, you are in fact the crazy one.

I can understand why American people like LBJ so much than the rest of the world(MJ and Kobe are way more popular outside of US).

Watching LBJ reminds me more of NFL and WWE than NBA. The amount of contact allowed and encouraged, the hand checking rule, the 3 seconds rule(to limit big men), the superstar traveling ignorance... are nonexist in world championship and Olympics. To be frank, these rules are more of American culture than real basketball.

Shaq and LBJ can use their body to force the basket with tons of contact and debatable foul/nonfouls. It's simply not entertaining and admirable in any sense(maybe for some people that's all it's about). Outside of hardcore basketball fans, there's Michael Jordan and there's the rest of the players.

Hardcore basketball fans tend to naturally align their view with perimeter or post play. I'm a post guy and for me, there's Dream and there's the rest of the players.

These guys are dumb, as always. How did you favor Lakers when they didn't have HCA, Bynum and Ariza when the other team is healthy throughout. That's the same reason they thought Lakers were done when they needed 7 games to beat Rox.

Those columnists were just bandwagon fans. In general perception, the team with HCA is always favored, barring major injury.

Hollinger, Abbott, and Thorpe were bandwagon Laker fans? Doubt it.

No, they ain't Lakers fans, but certainly in bandwagon all the time. But it's not like they favor Lakers over Celtics when the trade happened. Instead, Hollinger's style is when they had good success, he's gonna dig out his PER to support what had happen and pretend he's Jesus.

He'd favor a team when the team is on the roll, and when the team fell, he never came back to explain why PER contradicted it. A bandwagon fan in that sense.

At least Bill Simmons has some dignity.

Well, if LBJ ends up with one ring and no FMVP when it's all said and done, he'll go down as MOE, most overrated ever.
If that's what you are asking.
