i cant imagine that Melo is hanging his hat on wanting to play w Martin...in fact, id go as far to say that as long as we have Yao on our team, Melo will be fine with it

Brooks and Melo can't co-exist anyway...
Although, I'd rather keep Brooks since we all know Melo is only going to stay for one year, whilst Brooks (not even in his prime yet) will be staying for a much longer period and developing his game here.

what are u basing this assumption on? i think they would be great

If you have double and triple teams on Melo or Yao, u need a pg who can shoot

You know another reason Martin is more likely to go before Brooks would be the salary ramification of signing Anthony long term. If we move Martin then you basically replace his contract with Anthony plus a few million however if you move Brooks then you are looking at a HUGE increase in team salary in the next few years.

    Anthony - 16 million for 6 years?
    Martin - 11-12 million for 3 years
    Scola - 7-11 million for 5 years
    Yao - 10-12 million for 5 years???
    Lowry - 5-6 million for 4 years

That is A LOT of money to be tied into 5 players not names James, Wade and/or even Bosh. Martin being traded makes a ton more financial sense long term, especially with the new CBA agreement that might lower the cap.

I believe Martin nor Brooks are being offered.

Denver doesn't need Brooks anyway, and his salary is too low to match up, and they would probably not want to pay 2 guys a large salary at PG going forward.

I think Morey is trying to get Melo for young players, and picks.....and that is it.

There is always a price you are willing to pay, and I don't believe Morey is willing to give up Brooks or Martin in this deal.

No kidding it is mind numbing how underated AB is on here, thank god he isn't with Morey....

Posted this in the trade thread accidently....

Do you guys think Morey is crazy enough to trade for Melo, without having him sign an extension.

Think about it, Brooks, Jeffries, Hill, Taylor, Hayes, and picks for Melo.

Out of the players we send, the most impact player would be Brooks, who is a free agent next year and will get paid. The rest of the players are expirings or players who won't get much playing time here. So pretty much, Melo for Brooks and picks. We'll have Melo's bird rights and may have a chance to sign him after. I think its worth it one year rental of Melo.

In the end Morey is going to do what it takes to make this team better. I do not believe we will be on the losing side of this trade. What this means is that if Denver is willing to trade us Melo we will get him and get him at a good price. I trust Morey more than any GM that has ever been involved with a team I have followed. If we don't get Melo it's not because Morey didn't try but rather that Denver was wanting way too much. This team will be a force no matter what happens in my opinion but getting Melo is probably what it takes to put us in the same category as a LA, Boston or Miami.

    !!!!!!
THIS JUST IN: "Sources in Denver claim that the teams are waiting on NBA League Officials to approve a trade sending Carmello Anthony to the Houston Rockets in exchange Aaron Brooks, Jared Jeffries, and two future 1st round picks."

---- In the words of Wayne Campbell, "shhaa. And monkeys just flew out of my butt!"

Dude, first off who the hell is Wayne Campbell and second...why are you trying to make us wet our pants?

By the way, money doesn't work so next time...make sure the deal is even plausible.
