It was announced, not leaked. You don't hide that kind of info.

"Hey, Carmelo! Welcome to the Rockets. Are you excited to play with Yao? Too bad, now that you are here, we'll go ahead let you know he can only play 24 mpg. Would you like to sign your extension now or later...?"

Mr. Morey, I don't consider you GOD like most in this site but If you Get this Deal DONE without trading Martin and Chase I would consider you Archangel Daryl.... Get the freaking deal done...

    Get Melo
Trade: Brooks, Hill, Jeffries, Battier, 2 picks and Get a third team involved if needed to make the salaries work..

Starting 5: Yao, Scola, Melo, Martin, Lowry

Bench: Miller, Patterson, Budinger, Taylor, Lee, scrub and scrub .... Am I missing another scrub ?

Can you people stop overrating Aaron Brooks; he's a nice player but not a super star. He's not going to reach a next level, he is at his peak with his God-given talent. He's not going to get any taller, any stronger and certainly he will never be a true Poing Guard like Nash or Parker.. Stop getting so attached to players; You Hear me Matt Bui ??? It's a businees and Lowry is ready to take over as a true PG.

    I'm going to bed ....
    Go Rockets

***K the flopping Spurs, Jazz and soft Mavs...

Morey doesnt start high...he starts low.

Billups may be too popular there to be traded, but i think it's a possibility. He's got game left, could go to a contender for more young talent.

With Yao comin back, it is pretty obvious we need some one who can fit with Yao. In this case Martin fit better than Brooks. Is this the reason Martin is not included?

Not only did Daryl Morey say he wasn't trading Martin, but according to this article a week ago, he wasn't trading anybody...

So if he is not trading anybody, how does he plan to acquire Melo? Since they are over the cap, he's gonna have to ship out around $14 million in salary to get the deal done. Trading Martin would consume most of that figure. They could also do it with a combination of Battier, Jeffries and the picks, but is Denver really going to make that deal? I don't think so.

Smart move by going public NOT wanting to trade Martin...that way if we don't get Melo, Martin stays happy and motivated...if Rockets have a chance on getting him w/o including Martin, Melo knows Rockets will be a too 3 team in the league.

GM's say this kinda crap all the time. They're always open to deals. Only a moron shuts it all off and stops listening. Doesn't mean he's actively shopping any one player...but you always listen to see if you can improve your roster.

still need a 3rd team to make the trade happen.
Not only that, Nuggets will try to make someone take on the contract of Billups or Kmart or JRSmith.

My opinion is It will be JRsmith since he is more cancerous and keeps jacking up 3's.Because of that, it will be hard to make a trade. I think the risk will be high for any team to take on JR because it could ruin chemistry.

I posted this trade earliers in another thread and it still makes sense to me:

    Denver:
    JCrawford
    JHill
    JJeffries
SBattier +3 mill in cash to buyout
    JTaylor
    2 Picks First RD picks

    Houston
    C.Melo
    Denver 2nd rd pick

    ATL
    ABrook
    JRSmith

All he said was that they are not looking to trade anybody (means that they don´t want to trade anybody-doest mean they wouldn´t trade anybody if a chance like Melo appears!!!

Telling a player that you're not "looking to trade him" is not the same thing as telling him that he won't be traded ever.

i cant belive so many ppl in here would rather give broks over martin. im a lover of bball as im sure many of you are and i watched kmartin in sac town and i just dont see it. giving up brooks i thk will make us a LOT worse than giving up anthony for martin. melo automatically replaces any points we lose with martin and we still keep our good point guard. last yr on a team that had NO scoring brooks kept us in and helped us win a few contests. i would much rather see martin go than brooks....anyone else besides yoa and scola are up for grabs as well even tho i would rather keep cbud....

If you honestly think Denver will trade Melo and the best player they get back is Chase Budinger then your SERIOUSLY overating Budinger. Lmao

Why did we draft Patrick Patterson when we already had Scola, Hill, and Hayes? Because it's about acquiring assets for your team as well as having complimentary pieces for your style of play.

The Nuggets will certainly trade Billups to a contender after Melo is gone because they won't be contending for a championship anytime soon. So in reality they will need another point guard, especially one with speed.

If Houston lands Melo, there will be a third team involved. Houston has assets but they can't pull make this deal happen alone.

IMO, I never saw Morey trading K-Mart. Now that doesn't mean it won't happen but he's been after this guy for sometime.

But we're still no closer with what's going on with Melo. I still think he's holding out for NY. Whether through trade or next offseason.

I agree, and AFAIK, it's possible to get him, his contract in Europe is not a barrier....

He could be given an LLE if Rockets get over the cap and MLE is used in other player.... and compliment the salary with some chinese contract, as happened with Scola at his arrival....

I don't know why such possibility isn't considered...a 6'5" PG who has court vision and pretty nice shooting....why not having a chance with him?
