What is up with the negativity? Race matters in a charity game? This is all Kenny Smith's friends. Maybe all of them are Black. Does it really matter? Seems that there is always someone to try to bring negativity into every situation.

How does that thread justify your racist remarks?

The best players in the world are African American, you know? So, I don't get your negativity.
Kenny Smith wanted the top 7 players in the NBA and he got them. Everybody else volunteered. Do you mean to tell me that if Steve Nash wanted to be part of the game, flew on his own to Houston and donated at least $10k, he would be turned away by Kenny?

Perhaps no white players volunteered. What the *** does is matter anyways? They're doing this for a great cause

The players that are participating are either stars or Houston based like Damon Jones

Take you ignorant stuff somewhere else. Instead of spewing venom make a donation

What did I say that was racist? I admitted in my second post that I should have said foreign basketball players instead of making the broad foreigner statment. My mistake.

From what I recall from the TNT broadcast that year, I don't think he likes foreign basketball players.

And please don't for try to speak for me when it comes to donating my time or money because I have done both.

The reason why there aren't any foreign players in this game is probably because they are all out of the country. That and the fact that:

Kenny Smith doesn't care about foreign people*.

    *Disclaimer: Just Kidding.

LOL that was hillarious. i had a feeling something a long those lines would come. i don't know why dude is mad cuz its all black folks playing, most of them volunteered. i'm sure if nash or dirk or ostertag wanted to play and did everything all the requirements then they'd be playing. and plus this is for charity so we shouldn't even care who plays or not. race shouldn't be a topic of this game that is helping out hurricane victims.

    LOL.

Who cares... there is always one person who bring up some race issue, even if it's something for a good cause.

Why aren't there enough black head coaches? Why aren't they enough black CEO's? Why are they only black players listed to play in this relief all-star game??

Tired of hearing all that sh*t.

Guys I'm sorry raising up this but some of the fans here misunderstood me. I mean of course the black athletes care about their own people. The people suffering are mostly black and poor. I don't mean other races are not helping the refugees. But this game is sure to be made high profile, if some non-black people take part in, that shows no matter who you are, what color your skin is, you have compassion and sympathy for human being. USA as a whole is united. People should care about their companions on the earth. More than 80 countries offered help, even freaking IRAN, Venezuela
, and Cuba!!! well if Kenny the jet smith rejects non blacks, that's another story.

This is how I see it. Pretty much all of the best non-black players are foreign-born and spend their offseasons overseas. Dirk, Peja, Yao, Ginobli etc are all out of the country. And since this is an allstar game, you would want to fill it with exciting athletes. I don't think the fans would be lining up to see Wally Szerbiak or Keith Van Horn.

And just because they aren't playing in the game doesn't mean that some of these guys aren't giving people their support. I don't think there's any question that Jon Barry and Bob Sura for example will be at the game providing whatever help and support that they can give. And who's to say that these "white" players aren't donating as much of their time and money as anyone else. This game isn't the only way to donate or raise funds for hurricane relief.

To me, the fact that no non-blacks will be participating in this game is a non-issue.

Well said. This is a great cause and it's about being united.
It's Syin who started all this crap about how there's no white/foreign players, because Kenny Smith doesn't like them. Kenny Smith wants all the help he can get

Hi, Macfan, You need to read my writing carefully before you comment on me. I did not say a single word about Kenny Smith doesn't like foreign players. One of the posters said that. By the way, there are way more non blacks better than Demon Jones, Dahntay Jones, and Tyronn Lue in NBA. They SHOULD ask to play.

I've never seen such a combination of dumb and ignorant. You just wrote a few minutes ago that we misunderstood you and you come back and say the same sh*t.

Yes, there are white players better than Lue and Jones. What the hell does that have to do with anything? Do you understand that this is a charity event and not the All-Star game? Players were recruited on a volunteering basis. If no white players participate it's not because they were rejected, but either because they wish not to participate or they are not available.

If you want to see Steve Nash or Ginobili and they're not going to be there, it's not because they were denied access. I repeat, this is a CHARITY EVENT so they need all the help and donations they can get. One of Kenny's requirements was that all players who participate donate at least $10k.

You have to be the most inconsiderate SOB I have ever seen. They are trying to raise money you dumbass and you're complaining because they're ruining your TV time? You can turn the TV off, so you don't have to watch all those non-white players.

By your response, I'm convinced you are one of those can't read properly, can't act properly. From your dirty language, you are not even worth me talking to. Go back to your elementary school reading and then come back to the board.

That's the best you can come up with, I can't read properly?

You are bring up a race argument into something that is far bigger. You are saying that you are not happy there are not any white players in a game designed to raise money for thousands of people who are suffering right now.

I don't know anything more elementary and ignorant than that

I'm assuming he meant that in his OPINION they SHOULD be there. Meaning if it were up to him.

Of those I think only Tracy is planning to attend.
