Is there anywhere saying that the players will give money to the relief efforts without having to charge fans for a so-called "charity" game? I wished they would just HAND OVER the money instead of having to play to GET money. If they give money regardless of playing, I will shut up.

Hay en algún lado donde diga que los jugadores darán dinero a los esfuerzos sin tener que cobrarnos por este dizque juego "caritativo"? Quisiera que nomás dieran dinero sin tener que jugar para RECIBIR dinero. Si dan dinero jueguen o no, me callo.

watch the kenny smith press conference on nba.com. the players have to give at least $10k and have to visit the people in person.

Well, a bunch of NBA players are donating money to the relief efforts, Billy Hunter listed a bunch of names (like Marbury, Kobe, Antonio Davis, some others I can't remember) when interviewed by ESPN. It's just happens to be not connected to the All-Star Game.

What I've noticed throughout the years is that sport celebrity figures use Houston alot for these Celebrity All-Star Charity games. I know these type of games happen all over the country for players doing it in either their home town or their team's city. But it seems to me more happens in our city and I kinda think it's because the fans in this city are more starstruck and like the idea of schmoozing to the celebrities then other cities and are more prone to spend money on these type of events. Not trying to start something, just my observation.

Many of them have given money and received press for it. I'm sure there are many more that have given and not received the press. This event is not about them giving money, it's about them raising money. So stop b****ing. If you don't won't to help them raise money then don't.

in my eyes, this is as close to the ASG as many of us will get, so at $50 a ticket for great seats, and having it go to charity...

it's a win-win situation for everyone. see you guys there.

I heard T-Mac's name a few times being mentioned, so seems like he might play.

    Should be fun

Maybe he will be the other coach - or another host (since he is the hometown hero now - no way he doesn't show)

on the tix prices - the fees are assessed by the toyota center (they help pay the people's salaries) and the reason for a charity game is not so players won't have to give - its so people like us can give to charity AND get something in return

in other words - I gave $150 to the red cross at work - I got a tax deduction and a warm feeling

I gave $50 for these tickets - so I get to see a All-Star game (lite) and have a warm feeling inside !

This is pretty cool...The tix sound like a great deal as you'll never get NBA tickets for those prices...

    Houston Rocks!!!

My husband and I are taking my two year old son...he's going to love it! I went the cheap route for the $15 seats (gotta save up for all the souvenirs and food I will most likely be getting)! Section 117, Row 5 :D Not bad for $15 bucks a ticket.

Just locked up some courtside seats this morning. I'll be so close the players will be sweating on me. I love this event. Great cause, and great chance to see these players.

Man I just picked up my tickets yesterday and I got some unbelieveable seats for it for $25. Last year I went to a game and paid around $150 for lower bowl tickets and for $25 I will get to sit almost at mid court (section 106 and I am in either the 2nd or 3rd row. This is an unbelieveable opportunity to help a great cause and to see an all-star game with unbelieveable seats for $25!
