there's been wide speculation that Dragic might get traded but a) the Heat dont' have to do it to pay Whiteside- it's a misinformation b)it's not like Riley to give up that soon.
The reason for this speculation is because Dragic can't find his way next to Wade they have bad chemistry and he has been underperfoming on his contract plus due to various minor injuries he has been missing a lot of games which made the chemistry with Wade even more difficult.

But now Miami just finished their trip of hell and they are still in the playoffs. After February their shedule gets again easier. If they had fallen out of the playoffs it would be much more feasible.

This is my analysis. Nene would be perfect for the pick and pop. Good rebounder and shot blocker as well.

Tyreke would be good, but $10M to come off the bench?

I'd rather pay Nene's expiring and re-sign him this summer.

Of all the names mentioned in this thread, Tobias Harris is the most intriguing to me.

    But I can keep dreaming...

Tyreke, please no. Nene would be cool.

codman, you are the most credible "insider" on here in my opinion. Why exactly would the Rockets want Noah? I don't see why - would he start with Dwight? Because that would've been awful. And he would be expensive as a back up big - and is a FA this summer anyways.

I guess he's a great locker room guy, but still doesn't make too much sense.

^ I know Noah is obviously out for the season, but even when he wasn't injured, I don't get the Rockets interest.

The reason for dropping names like Noah and Nene is that aside from Dwight Howard, the Rockets are a mess defensively in the front court. Adding Josh Smith helps, but it is not complete.

Dmo - hurt. Durability issue right now.
TJ - terrible defensive rotations and terrible rebounder.
Harrell & Capela - basically rookies

The Rockets need a VET front line player that can anchor the defense (call rotations) when Howard is not in the game OR is injured. Noah would have given you that. Nene can give you that, plus some offense. Noah offensively would have given you high post passing.

But why would the Pelicans get rid of Tyreke?

They have a three headed albatross of contracts in Evans, Gordon, and Holiday. Evans is the best of those three and primary ballhandler. Seems like they'd be asking a lot. Definitely Jones, but who else?

Lol imagine a bench unit with smith Tyreke and Lawson. It may not even be all that great but if you had told me that last season I would have been ecstatic

Have you ever watched him play? Apparently not.

Health is obviously an issue, but if he's bought out, and we sign him on the cheap, what's the risk?

Given that we have 15 contracts (with addition of Smoove) and are up against the apron, I don't think a buy out would work for the Rockets. I think the Rockets would have to trade salary for Nene. Which I am all for. Maybe a 2 for 1.

This team needs deadly 3pt shooter, Anderson is the perfect fit . Nene wiuld clog the paint just like jones did. Plus Harrell is same type player as Nene. Bring Nene would add some toughness to this team, but not much

Anderson is like a better version than Channing Frye.

It's not worth giving up so much to acquire him.

I'm almost positive the Pelicans want Ariza for him. That's not happening..
