Yeah I'm not really following Kiper's logic here. There's zero chance Zeke Elliott doesn't go in the first round. Heck, he's probably gone in the first ten picks.

I get that he's "not projecting" but putting him in the 2nd makes little sense to me. Now if it was Derrick Henry as the running back in the 2nd it's more plausible.

This guy must not like the Texans. Their mocks keep getting worse.

Lance Zierlin on this draft's WRs:

It isn't a normal mock. He took players based on team need alone and valued that more than BPA. He even states in the Elliot write up that he doesn't think that is where he will go. It is just basically a 3 round draft where every team drafts based on need and would get an A grade in his opinion.

So, you believe QB is a 2nd round need for the Texans?

I don't think that Castor27 does as he was simply explaining the premise of the article.

Obviously Mel Kiper, Jr. thinks it's a need.

Yeah but doesn't that kind of shatter Kiper's credibility? The Texans currently have 3 QB's under contract for next season, listing QB as a need just shows that he doesn't do his homework. If he's not doing his homework there, where else is he skimping out or just flat out wrong?

Just explaining the premise of the article. That it wasn't a normal mock, but a needs assessment done by Kiper. I never said I agreed with it or anything else, but thanks for noticing

Didn't mean to offend. I know of the rules. I assumed everybody else did. The Texans need a guard/center and a tight end more than they need a QB.

I don't understand the scouting obsession with speed. There are many more examples of guys with size/speed and nothing else busting it hard in the NFL than there are of guys that worked on their routes and their hands in college and later busting on the NFL because of a lack of traits.

Guys like Doctson and Treadwell feel like Hopkins and Alshon Jeffrey, while Fuller and Coleman sound much more like Corey Patterson, Stephen Hill, AJ Jenkins, Reuben Randle, and Dorial Green-Beckham.

Sure, you have guys with Deep speed like TY Hilton, Randall Cobb, and Antonio Brown, but when they were drafted all were lotto tickets that were drafted, appropriately, in the 2nd-3rd rounds due to bust potential just like the guys I already mentioned.

Speed alone doesn't cut it in the NFL. You have to learn how to actually play the position. Some can do that once they get to the NFL, but they have to have the work ethic to push themselves there. Actual WR skills in college are more likely to bear fruit at the next level.

Eagles just acquired #2 from the Browns, screwing up everybody's Mock drafts even further.

I guess the Browns are really going with RG3. And are the eagles really considering drafting a QB at #2? Bradford, Chase, and Wentz?

Browns will draft Cook at the top of the second. Smart move by them.

Cleveland beat writer (Mary Kay Cabot) on NFL Network suggesting Hue Jackson loves Paxton Lynch and the Browns might think about taking him at #8.

    That would be weird.

Seems like Jackson got sucked into the bowels of Cleveland.

If he picks him at 8 it's probably because he doesn't believe Lynch will get past Denver at 31. They should trade up to 22 with the Texans and give up their 2nd and the Eagles 2nd :)
