That would probably be Darius Miles.

I remember reading on SI and ESPN a report that the city of Portland and the owner had agreed on a team/arena package that they were willing to go with to entice possible buyers. With that said, I also saw reports about how much the Portland owner had lost over the franchise b/c of the low attendence and bad team and everything else. So its not that far-fetched that they would be willing to dump the long and more expensive contract of Miles for a short and less expensive contract of J-Ho. Also, if he is looking to sell the team, then he would be willing to swap #4 for #8 just to get Miles' contact off the books. Many report that this draft is very solid, and why wouldn't Portland want a solid player in their rebuilding mode?

Just how I look at the situation. Could be that Im completely wrong and that its just pure rumors, but we will just have to wait and see!

JM - he's talking about Darius Miles in the proposed deal of JH and 8 for DM and 4. I'd do the deal just to get up high enough to take one of Thomas/Roy/Gay/Barnani (based on need at PF, and in the order). Miles would be a quality backup and might even be a solid starter with the TMAC influence on him. The fact remains taht JH is not a good fit for the Rockets.

I'd do the deal if that is all that it cost us to move up.

I'd even spend more of Les' money and buy the #10 and take Brewer.

    MLE to MJb

We'd have a ton more length (Miles, #4, Brewer) and end-to-end talent (MJb).

I don't mind spending Les' money.

That makes sense except for the fact that neither Darius Miles or his contract are discussed in this entire thread. You're the first poster to mention his name. I'm still puzzled as to why somebody would bring that up in such a random and vague manner.

Honestly, I suspected as much. I just didn't understand WHY he was talking about that in this thread when there has been no mention of it and there is a thread specific to that topic. At the very least I wanted him to understand he should be more specific about things and not just assume everybody can read his mind.

Personally, I sometimes get side tracked and forget what thread that I'm posting in. Maybe that's what he did.

Edit: He may have also been commenting on Manos's newsflash.

You messed up their stats, so I tried to fix them. Also note that your "new development" was not new to the board.

I just noticed your signature and cracked up. Is self-contained irony still irony or is it merely wit? :D
