Thanks for posting that info! Very cool. I would like to see more info posted on Nachbar like the above info. Any interviews that he does with the media back home (ala Yao Ming) I would love to read the translated interviews to see how Nachbar is progressing. Good to see he is adding more muscle but not at the expense of speed.

I really hope he can be a Hedo T. type of player for this team with his dribble penetration, fast breaks and midrange game.

I'm still trying to puzze out Doc Rockets comments (see my sig ;) ) about Nachbar. And now we get this?

I tend to trust Doc Rocket, since clutch verified him...

...although I'm still dying to know what "reason" besides actual ability could be causing Rudy to not play Nachbar.

I don't know about the Nachbar comment, but wha tI know is that that Ford guy is known to be a pretty bad analysist when it comes to the Rockets...
So basicly I would tend to trust more what Calvin Murphy or Doc say.:D

everyone is talking about boki getting his shot next year, but wont the sf position still be loaded. rice isnt going anywhere (i doubt we trade him cause we could use the 9 million that he takes up. we will need his cap space to resign ming and griffin) and t-mo is staying (am i correct in thinking that he has another year too?) and we might resign posey. we will still have 4 sf's and boki will still be odd man out.
unless posey or rice goes i wouldnt expect to see much of him.

I hope Boki can turn out to be a Brent Barry type player. ;) (not sure whether he can dunk from the Ft line) Keep it going, Boki!

Yeah, Rudy T's said all along that this season, they're pretty much gonna treat Nachbar as if he were next season's 1st round draft pick, since we don't get one. He said that in the beginning of the season, and he's stuck with it. I haven't expected to see Nachbar play much at all, and the season's gone just as expected in terms of Nachbar. However, I imagine come next season, he'll get a little more than the trash time at the end of a blowout.

Thank you Jeff. It sounded a little weird, because all indications from Doc Rocket were the same as yours - that they love the way Nachbar plays, but his defense is horrible and he didn't go through training camp.

There was also this one mysterious reason that Doc wouldn't comment on. Any word on that?

Jeff, I'm glad to hear you feel confident that the Rocks are still high on Nachbar. (I remember Doc Rocket's post, but it was a while ago, and it's wearing off as I become more paranoid like some Chicken Little). I remember reading someone's recap of a Rudy show (thanks, edc) and Rudy's remarks on Boki didn't seem very positive (felt Boki's shot wasn't all that, and his defense needed work). As others have said, Rudy is rarely negative or pessimistic about a player on the roster, so that made me rather concerned. I'm also afraid PhiSlammaJamma might be right on target.

If the Rocks see Boki as part of the team's future, I wonder where that puts Posey and TMo? (jo mama, I believe that TMo's contract is actually up after this year. ) Jeff, any other insiders, when it's appropriate, I think we'd all like some hints on what will happen with the logjam at the 3.

You tell me. The 2 countries not using the metric system are leading a war in Iraq. I guess the US-UK team (or U-SUK team) strives to be different from the world...

Well, back to the topic, I haven't been impressed by Boki based on various clips/footages that I can find on TV and on the web. I doubt he's good enough if he can't even show some brilliant moves in those limited air time that he has.

Dang, I wanted to be the first to mention Hedo T. Because that's exactly what I want from Boki.

Anyone know if Boki has any handles? One thing Hedo can do is bring the ball up court, and that'd be a nice luxury to have with Boki.

    On this one?

Boki has a three year rookie deal so someone would have to really want him to trade for him. Otherwise he has plenty of time to redefine and refine his placeon the Rox.

I reiterate, I have no clue on his abilities. I have not seen him play in real games at real times.

    I am pulling for him.

Logjam at the 3? Rice is trade bait, big time. JPo will be resigned and will also play at the 2. TMo will be resigned and will play 3/4.

Mo T and Cato are auditioning for their next teams. Ah, moneymoneymoney. Sweet, big contratcs.

I heard the Sonics want another guy with a funny name, and are willing to trade Rashard Lewis for him :)

Any possibility Lewis will demand a trade to his hometown this summer?

Bostjan Nachbar...I feel sorry for him. He spends the whole 2.5 hours sitting in his chair. And he still always claps. There is no proof that Rudy said this...but I think Nachbar will be pretty good. Hopefully he can turn out to be like Emanuel Ginobili or Marko Jaric or Gordan Giricek or something. Too bad he is behind James Posey, Glen Rice, and Terence Morris. I think the Rockets are going to sign Posey next season...

BUT YES! YAO HAS EXCEEDED EVERYONE'S EXPECTATIONS!

    I wish I could read ESPN Insider...can't suscribe. :(

I guess I'll add some pessimism to this thread.

I can't remember there ever being a situation where a player with talent was sat out all year long simply because he was either "viewed as next years draft pick" or is "good, but has some things to work on", and proceed to come in the next year and be good. Contribute, maybe, but even then not a lot. The only situation close to this may be the Jermaine Oneal one, but even then, the kid showed significant taletn when he was in teh game (and notice, the Blazers haven't been as stingy with Zach Randolph's minutes).

My point. Boki is at least two years away from contributing day in and day out like a Hedo T. Rudy may personalyl believe himself that he will see significant improvement in Nachbar over the next two summers, and, you know what, he may and I still expect him to. But, regardless of Ford's past accuracies or innacuracies (I don't know), how can you not say Rudy & Co. are dissapoitned with Nachbar this year. When he was picked, all the talk was this is a guy who should get 10-15 minutes a night (of course not that specific). Even further, this is a kid who barely gets a sniff of playing time, even during blowouts.

In absolutely no way am I questioning what people in the know might have heard on either side. I see it as very likely that Rudy has continued to go with the Boki is going to be there in a year and be a significant cog to the team approcah most of the time, while simultaneously showing frustration at times that the #15 pick that they lucked into and thought would be that SF or at least backup SF immediately hasn't panned out as expected.

Out of curiousity, does anybody remember what the restrictions were on that Toronto pick assuming we hadn't gotten it last year. I.e. - when was it due and at what point was it no longer lottery protected?
