Last year after the draft, a lot of fans were being pissed at Morey for "drafting another undersized 4". Which shows how much fans actually watch games, since no one who watched Patterson last year could possibly come to that conclusion.

OTOH, it does seem to bode well for Marcus "undersized 4 with no handles" Morris' future.

I want what you're smoking! I wanna go into a hallucination where PF's are 7 feet tall instead of the typical 6-8 to 6-10 that can be found in the NBA. btw, Dwight is 6-11, but i guess size does matter instead of skill...

    Scola's PER is still better at 18.43 v 16.77 . . .

but I agree, Pat Pat is close to a full time starter. He is a Battier type player IMHO, at least in terms of playing smart and using what he has to maximum effectiveness.

I have always known this. Patterson is going to be the best player on the team in a few years. (Thats a good thing)

i'm glad to see another one of morey's picks turn out to be promising, but he isn't going to be the difference on whether this team is successful or not. he's a great piece, but not the top tier player we need.

You yanked the words out of my mouth clutch. Respective to efficiency, talent, and potential, he is way higher up the ladder.

I agree to a point. From what we've seen, he's a very solid player. On the other hand, we haven't given him any room to grow. I think he has a lot more talent than what we have seen.

Trade Luis for a future 1st, rebuild with Patterson and Hill.

I got the impression they were going to develop him as a 3.

    Agreed 100%
Maybe something similar to the Stephen Jackson deal this year.
Would like to find a suitor for luis first if possible, possibly in a bigger deal.

    We need to rebuild.

Thats good to hear. Pat can handle 30 MPG and still be productive for every single minute. I would have pushed for Scola to start if his knees did not raise concerns but the fact is Scola has knee issues. Time to get rid of him before his knees deteriorate any further.

Its time to hand over the 4 to Pat and Hayes.

I hope not, he seems much better suited as a 4. Hopefully Marcus Morris works out and we are going to have a solid starting line-up in the future.

I see Patterson being a blue collar player, a get down and dirty, defensive minded, rebounding stud at the four with a decent shot to compliment his other skills.

I really look forward to watching him, Donatas, and Morris grow.

BTW - Scola is my favorite Rocket, has been for years, I love everything about the way he goes about his business, but he is expensive, and we are rebuilding, so if you can send him somewhere that gives him a chance to win, and get a future 1st for him etc...then I think you do it.

I don't see keeping Scola around as a necessity, but Jordan Hill is just simply not going to be a future star unless he suddenly learns the game of basketball. His fundamentals are light years behind Patterson's.
